Caught - Sapphire

Next I had History of Magic. The older students say it's taught by a ghost called Professor Binns. Apparently, he fell asleep in the teachers lounge, then got up to teach his class and left his body behind. Creepy. No one knows if he actually knows he is dead. Now, what can I say about History of Magic? The most exiting thing was the teacher coming in through the blackboard. At his first words at least had the class fell asleep. I struggled to stay awake myself. His voice could put anyone to sleep. But I managed it and scribbled down all the notes I needed, but my hair was white, showing my tiredness

"Now class" he said "For homework" all those who where awake groaned. Professor Binns either didn't hear, or ignored it "I expect 2 inches of parchment on the Goblin Rebellion of 1612" The bell went, it was the end of the day. The class got up and walked out, most freaking out about falling asleep and asking friends for their notes. My hair turned yellow as I decided to go to the library. I heard people talking about the prank Sirius and I played. Apparently it was being blamed on Peeves, but he denied it.

"Wasn't me" he said "It was Black and a little firstie". As suspected the guilt was getting to me and I was very tempted to turn myself in (not Sirius, just myself) but that temptation went away as soon as I found out Jackie was still very much multi-coloured, and had been for the whole of his charms lesson. On my way to the library I heard someone call my name.

"Sapphire" I turned and saw Sirius. I smiled.

"Hello Sirius" I said. He began to walk with me

"I can't believe how well our prank turned out" he said quietly as there where still students around. I giggled.

"I know! I can't believe we weren't caught" He chuckled. We had made it to an abandoned corridor so we no longer needed to whisper.

"That's because I'm the most epic pranker there is " Sirius grinned "And you are the best helper" I giggled. He held up his hand and we high-fived "Anytime you need help with a prank" Sirius told me "Just call"

"So it was you Sapphire" be both turned to see a shocked Raven "And a Gryffindor?". Sirius's face turned to a scowl.

"Why? You gonna tell us Slytherin? Don't even think about it or..."

"Sirius" I interrupted him sighing. I walked up to Raven "Please Raven don't tell. It was a one time thing. I doubt I'll ever have the guts to do it again. And Sirius was only helping. Don't tell on him either" Raven grinned

"Nah I won't tell. Seeing Surola multi-coloured was to epic" We both grinned. I walked back over to Sirius and whispered in his ear

"Don't tell her he called me a freak and that's why he targeted me ok" Sirius just nodded, still glaring at Raven because she was a Slytherin. Raven countered that glare with her own. I just sighed. Sirius walked away. Raven walked the other way. I just sighed and made my way back to the library.

An hour later

I was sitting reading, my hair changing colours as the plot changed.

"Miss Bane" I looked up to see Professor McGonagall. Head of Gryffindor house, transfiguration teacher, and depute head.

"Yes Professor?" I asked, my hair turning light pink to show my nervousness.

"Come with me" I got up and followed her, wondering what I had done wrong. We continued walking until we got to her office. I entered to see a scowling Jackie Surola, still covered in paint that he couldn't get off. My hair turned purple with fear. "Sit" McGonagall told me, so I did. She had a stern face "Miss Surola tells me that a witness, whom wishes to stay anonyms, caught you setting up the prank intended for him" I paled. I was caught. Before I could say anything, Sirius barged through the door.

"Professor, it wasn't Sapphire, it was me"

"Mr Black" Professor McGonagall scolded "You cannot just barge into my office!"

"But Professor it was my fault!"

"No Professor" I sighed "It was me"

"I was the one who set up the prank" Sirius said to McGonagall"

"But I was the one who helped you and gave you your target" said to him trying to take the heat off him

"Only because he went and called you a freak!"

"..." I didn't say anything else.

"Is this true Miss Bane" Professor McGonagall asked. I looked at Jackie. He was glaring at me as if daring me to tell her.

"Don't be intimidated by him Sapphire" Sirius told me. I took a breath

"Yes Professor, it's true". I explained about Herboligy and how he called me a freak because I was a metamorphmagus. McGonagall glared at all of us making me shrink back in my seat, my hair turning a a darker shade of purple to show how scared I was.

"I am very disapointed in all 3 of you. You will all recieve detention Report to my office at 7:30PM tonight for your punishments"

"Yes Professor" we all said. We all left her office. Jackie gave me one last scowl before walking away. Sirius looked guilty as my hair turned blue.

"Sorry Sapphire. I shouldn't have dragged you into this" I shook my head

"It was my own fault Sirius. Sorry that you got detention" he just chuckled.

"Meh, nothing new. See ya in detention" I gave a sad smile. As I walked I thought about who could have snitched. My hair turned bright red with anger as I realised who it was. I only realised because she was walking towards me.

"Sapphire" she said "I forot, I wanted to ask about why you where crying before..."

"You snitched!" I growled. Raven took a few steps back. She didn't realise how scary I could be when I was angry

"I was just called into McGonagalls office and given detention because 'Someone whom wishes to stay anonyms' told him! You've obviously told him it was me and Sirius! You where the only one that knew"

"Sapphire" she said "I swear it wasn't me!"

"Save it Howler" I growled "Your just the same as the others. You think I'm a freak too dont' you?" Raven was shocked

"What?" Then she got angry "Is that why you where crying! Because he called you a freak!"

"Please Howler just admit it. My hair began to get blue highlights through the red as my eyes filled with tears "You think I'm a freak too don't you! I thought you where different. I thought we could be friends!" With that I ran away crying. Raven didn't follow me. I ran to the first floor bathrooms and cried. Myrtle heard me and came out from her toilet. She comforted me. But there was no point. I wasn't going to stop crying for a while.
