Potions Class-Sapphire

I was the first one to wake up the next morning. I looked at the muggle clock that Dolly had brought. It was 06:21. I got up , Piper was no where to be found. I assumed she was exploring the castle and looking for some mice to eat. I went into the bathroom and turned on the shower. I stripped diwn and stepped in, letting the warm water fall on me. I washed my body and hair before turning the shower off and getting a towel. I got dressed into my white shirt, black skirt and tights and robes. I put on the Hufflepuff tie that I had found at the end of my bed when I woke up. Someone (or something) must have put it there as we slept. I put my now yellow hair into bunches and walked out of the bathroom. The muggle clock now read 6:45. I was wondering if I should wake up the others when Izzy began to stir. She then woke up, her brown hair tangled. She rubbed her eyes and smiled at me

"Morning" She said quietly I smiled. She looked at the muggle clock. Because she was a pure blood I wasn't sure if she knew how it worked but she must have understood as she got up and stretched before going over to Dolly's bed. I followed her over. Dolly's blonde hair was sprawled across her pillow. Her mouth was open as she snored lightly. I swore I saw a small puddle of drool on her pillow. I giggled quietly as Izzy rolled her eyes. "Dolly" she said softly, shaking Dolly lightly as a mother would do to wake up her child "Dolly it's time to wake up. Breakfast is soon" Dolly yawned and sat up groggily. I smiled at her sleepy state. Her hair covered her face as she attempted to rub her eyes. Izzy smiled at her and me before walking into the bathroom. It was only 10 minutes before she walked out again, fully washed and dressed. Dolly had woken up completely in those 10 minutes and went for a shower herself. I put my shoes on as I waited for her. When she got out it was 7:15 . Breakfast was at 7:30 until 8:30 and classes started at 8:45. We didn't have our timetables yet, we would get them at the breakfast table. Once the three of us where ready we began to head to breakfast. We got lost a few times but thankfully we met The Fat Friar (our house ghost) who pointed us in the right direction. When we got to the great hall my eyes scanned the room. I spotted Raven at the Slytherin table. She looked over at me so I smiled and waved to her. She just looked away. I saw her brother look at me and glare before saying to Raven

"Why is that weirdo weakling waving at you?" Raven shook her head and mumbled something I couldn't understand. My hair turned blue as I felt sad. Izzy sighed sadly as Dolly glared at Raven's brother

"I'll go beat him up!" she said. Izzy grabbed the back of her robes as she tried to march over to the Slytherin table.

"Come on Dolly don't cause trouble on our first day" she gave me a sad smile. I just smiled as my hair turned slowly turned back to yellow. We walked to the Hufflepuff table (Well more like Izzy and I walked while Izzy dragged Dolly behind her who was saying "Let me at him! I can take him!"). We sat down and began to eat breakfast. I just had some toast. The head of Hufflepuff house then walked over to give us our timetables. It was a different professor than my dad had. Her name, I believe, was professor sprout. She looked young and happy. She had black hair pulled back into a bun and kind eyes. I tried to remember what subject she taught. Herbology if I remember correctly.

"Here you are dears" Professor Sprout said with a kind smile. We returned her smile. We checked our timetables. First was potions with the Ravenclaw's then herbology with the Ravenclaw's. I put my timetable in my pocket, hoping I didn't loose it. At 8:25 Izzy, Dolly and I left in attempt to find our class so we weren't late. Potions, if I remember my father telling me, was in the dungeons. It took us a while to find it. Some friendly portraits helped us out. When we arrived there was already a group of nervous looking first years, a mix of all the houses. As time passed a few more students managed to gather at the door. Then a professor came. He had a slightly larger belly that some of the other professors and you could see a small patch of balding on the top of his head. He looked at us with kind eyes.

"Welcome to your first potions class" She said with a smile "I am Professor Slughorn. Now I have laid out a seating plan. I have put a piece of parchment with each of your names at a table. You will each have a table partner. Please enter and find your partner" We all walked in. I prayed my partner would be Dolly or Izzy but, unfortunately, I wasn't that lucky. Dolly and Izzy where both at the other side of the classroom. I stood at the table with the parchment that had my name on it. I looked beside me and saw the name of my table partner. Jackie Surola. He stood beside me, not saying a word. I stood silently too. I really would rather have worked on my own. As Professor Slughorn walked around to make sure everyone was in their correct seats Jackie spoke.

"Professor" he said "I would much rather work at a table alone. She will only slow me down" Wow I thought Way to make it obvious you don't want to work with me.

"Mr. Surola" Professor Slughorn said kindly but sternly "That's not a very nice thing to say. I'm sure Miss..." he read my name on the parchment "Miss Bane will not 'slow you down'" He walked away and Jackie glared at me. I just looked down at the table. This was going to be a long lesson.
