Charlene

I'm not sure whether I should've told Kaira that I was her sister. She seems like she believed me.

To break the silence, I said, "You see that house we're going to? It's the Guardian's. She has special powers like me."

Kaira just looked at me as if I had spoken a foreign language, but she followed me into the hut. As soon as we stepped into the hut, I saw something that looked like a giant quilt envelope us. "Charlie! It's so good to see you again!"

I wriggle out of the embrace and smile at the woman who just hugged us. I didn't know her name, but we all called her 'Guardian'. "It's good to see you too," I said.

Kaira looked at me for an explanation. "Oh yeah, introductions. Kaira, Guardian. Guardian, Kaira."

"It's always good to meet a friend of Charlene's!" Guardian exclaims. "She's so kind and she's got a ton of friends, all as amazing as her!" Apparently, Guardian shouts a lot.

"Um...actually Guardian, she's my sister."

"Really? She's so beautiful, and she's grown so much since the last time I saw her!" exclaims  Guardian.

I'm not sure how old Guardian is. She looks about thirty-five years old. Anyway, she leads us into what seemed to be the the storage room at first, but if you blink a few times, it changes completely. I hear Kaira gasp. It was pretty amazing at first glance. It was huge, with white pillars made of marble everywhere, and there must have been about twenty kids our age there. They were all training with swords and knives. I keep forgetting that Kaira is new to the whole magic thing. Well, she's gonna have to get used to the whole concept. I reflect on Kaira's posture. She doesn't look like a fighter, and she definitely doesn't look like anything magical.

I smile grimly. Well, that's all going to change.
