Kaira's trial was today. I don't know what the verdict was, but I'm hoping it's good - and in favor of Kaira. I know it's a futile hope...but...never mind.

I also know that Kyle is here, undercover as 'Luke'. He's actually Jonathan's son, and I was hoping that maybe, just maybe, there was that one part of him that remembered our adventures on our botched mission to Mythlecis.

I usually try to escape at this time, but today I didn't want to. I just wanted to know the verdict. She must have lived if Kyle - I mean Luke- was judging. I have a really bad feeling that's not what happened...

I sat up from the brick like bed provided for me. I turned to my fellow cyborgs, "What's the verdict? Did she live or die?" I questioned in the most authoritative voice I could muster up.

There were no responses from them. Just a couple of puzzled expressions on their faces. Did nobody know that today was my sister's trial?

Suddenly, I hear a voice from the back. I craned my neck to find out where the voice came from and saw a short, slim brunette.

"I heard that she was sentenced to death," said the brunette.

I felt like someone had just thrown a spear at my heart. That could not be possible...they should've at least given her another chance. Besides, we hadn't even done anything wrong! We hadn't planned to, either!

This whole thing was just plain weird. Oh, and unfair. Did I mention that we didn't have any intentions to harm them, we didn't harm them, and that Kaira should've been given a second chance? Yes? Oh well, it's not like I can take back my words.

But Luke should have helped her; he loved her...right? Either that or my instincts are wrong. As a matter of fact, my instincts are never wrong.

The small metal door near the front of the room opens and Kyle walks in...wait, I mean Luke.

He looks just like he had the last time I saw him. With his tousled dirty blonde hair and those really rad eyes that change according to his mood. There was just one change - this time he had dark circles under his eyes and looked extremely lethargic.

He gestured towards me,but since I didn't move. He made his way over towards me, and I shiver mentally. He bends down and cups my ear to whisper something, but before he can, I swat his hands away. He looks completely taken aback by this.

"How could you? Luke, how could you? She was so young and naive, so carefree with her life!" I scream at him hystericallly.

He just looks at me with a blank expression on his face. At this point I felt like I was breathing fire and I was completely out of control. He just continued staring at me and I felt like smashing that _______'s face.

"Charlene Burns could you please just listen to me?" he shouts. "Stop getting all worked up! Kaira is not sentenced to death, she just has to follow some...rules in order to stay alive."

"Some rules?" I question him instinctively, knowing in my gut that there was something wrong with the way he said that.

"Well...she has to do what Jonathan and the army tell her, without question." he states, looking as if he thought I was going to blow up in his face.

"Luke...thank you, I am pretty sure you had something to do with the fact that she isn't dead. I can't thank you enough, though I hate you."

"Charlene you don't need to thank me. I still care for her."

I, Luke-umm.."

"Don't say anything Charlene..okay?"

I nod and then he just walks out of the room slamming the door behind him. Well, that was harsh. Really harsh.
