I cannot believe this! Our one chance of getting out is gone! I must've jinxed it when I hadn't wanted to leave. I wonder if Kaira thought the same thing because her expression was just like mine at the moment...

"What!" exclaims Guardian, "How is that possible? I have had this book for over five hundred years and nothing else is missing!"

"Well, obviously the page is ripped out," I say. "Someone must've done it on purpose."

Kaira joins in on the conversation. "This whole thing is messed up, we have to find a way to get out," she says. "Guardian, is there another copy of this enchantment?"

"I'm sorry dear, it's the only one left in existence..." My face falls. I can see that Kaira's face has lost all its color.

"But there is another way. You must go on a quest to a secret colony in the mountains called 'Mythlecis'. It houses a great secret. Even I, with my age, have never traveled there. It is a perilous journey that can only be made by three."

"But who else will come with me and Kaira?"I ask.

"Oh no!" Kaira says depressedly.

"We'll never find a third person! Guardian, will you be willing to come with us?" I ask.

"Oh, never my dear." Guardian shudders. "But I can think of one person who will be willing to come..."

"Who is it?"

"Kyle Adams. He is an exceptional fighter. His mother is an Earth mage. We do not have any information on his father, sadly. He is very intuitive and is our third best fighter, after you two." Kaira and I glance at each other. "What do you say? Are you in?" Guardian asks.

"Yeah," we say together, " What choice do we have?"
