Kyle
I'm stunned. Charlie just kidnapped Kaira. It's not her, I remind myself. It's the cyborg. Kyle focus I repeat to myself I need to find a way to save Kaira.
I run out from the tiny spare room and back into the dining room to find Mara sitting there quietly eating her dinner with not a care in the world.
"Mara, Charlene just captured Kaira and made a portal and transported them somewhere!"
"Kyle, I do not want to get involved in all this mages nonsense, just contact my sister and ask her what to do," she replies bluntly. I nod but I don't make eye contact with her, how dare she not care when her granddaughter has been captured!?!
Wait...I'm rambling on, aren't I.
I rush into my room and start searching frantically for the glowing sphere that Guardian sent me to contact her.
I finally managed to find it under my mattress (Note to self: always look under the mattress first 'cause you'll probably find what you are looking for there)
I mutter an incantation to rejuvenate the sphere and send my message to Guardian. Let us hope she gets it in time.

Kaira
I wake up feeling groggy and the world around me spinning. I am tied to what looks like a telephone pole...but whatever it is it's keeping me down; when I try to stand up I end up falling back down again.
I feel so hopeless just leaning against the wall, not even knowing where I am. I am about to drift off, but then I hear voices in the distance....close by but not close enough for me too make out what they are saying. I can't even remember how I got here... The last thing I remember is going to Kyle's room when Charlie was missing... Wait-missing? She's right outside; I can make out her voice through the wall.
Oh damn, I must be having short term amnesia!
But that means I hit my head somewhere; at least, that's what I think, 'cause of my clumsiness. Or I was badly injured. Hmm... both seem likely to me. But I'm probably fine, after all, Charlie is here and I trust her with my whole heart.
Gods, I sounded sappy, speaking like a hopeless sentimental worthless piece of crap...I actually am sentimental at heart. Gods, there I go again, I feel like I have ADHD, with me not being able to concentrate on anything.
I'm gonna go back on topic now... right, my surroundings. I look around; I'm in a prison cell or maybe it's like a brig...something you find in ships, but that isn't possible right. Great...I am so confused.
I probably was in the non magical world and maybe got caught for speeding or something and Charlie's out there bailing me out right now. Yeah, that sounds about right.
Little did I know that I was completely wrong.
The voices that were faint are now clearer and I can make out what they are saying.
"The girl's being tested now. She has incredible magical capabilities," said a british accented person.
"Yes, she's responding incredibly well. Her psychic capabilities are about to be downloaded." said another person with a an accent I can't even recognize.
It sounds like they're talking about a human test subject that happens to be... drumroll please... yay, me! (Note the sarcasm)
I focus again on the voices and hear Charlie's voice. She's thanking the men(or I think they are men). For what?
"You have done an amazing job capturing her," Wait-what?
I feel like punching someone. All this time I thought Charlie was protecting me. Even when she tortured me I still had hope that she still did care for me.
In a second even the tiniest amount of hope I had diminished after hearing those words.
Then all of a sudden I hear the door creak open and Charlie walks in and starts approaching me.
She has a key in her hand probably to open the cuffs that have kept me locked to this forsaken telephone pole or whatever it is.
She's like close enough to touch me and starts to come closer to unlock the cuffs that are around my hands.
She about to open the cuffs to free my legs. I proceed to punch her in the face. What did you expect me to do? My sister- the person closet to me- betrayed me. What would you do? Exactly. She looks at me, her face emotionless and doesn't punch back; instead she proceeds to unlock the cuffs on my legs. Damn, I've gotten into trouble, she didn't even react.
