Chapter 35: Return of the king

Chapter 35:

My door soon flies open. And its Arwen! "Oh my gosh Arwen!" I run over and give her a hug, she puts a finger to her lips "shhh, Aragorn doesn't know I'm here I'm going surprise him later at his coronation" she says, that's so cute.
"Oh I forgot about the coronation I better get ready, not that I have anything for the occasion" I laugh opening the wardrobe with 2 dresses in not fit for a coronation. We laugh "don't worry I brought a dress fit for you" Arwen says standing and bringing out two dresses. Just in time Braelyn walks in "morning", "morning" I reply whilst introducing Braelyn and Arwen.
"Come on then girls we need to get ready" Arwen smiles as we help each other.

I was really hungry not having breakfast and all so I head out before I get ready properly. I walk to the hall to see the guys (Aragorn, Gimli, Legolas) with a few guards scattered about. I smile at the guys "you alright lass?" Gimli asks.
"Yeh of course, I'm just starving" I laugh and pick up some fruit and turn to head back to my room "see you at the coronation" I wave leaving the room. "Caitlin" I hear my name being called from down the hall, I turn to see Legolas walking forward. "Oh, hi! Sorry I left quickly" I squeak out, going red knowing I just looked like an idiot. He smiles "I just wanted to ask if I could speak with you before the coronation" he explains to me which makes me nervous, what does he want to talk about? "Okay I'll meet you outside once I'm ready" I reply as my bedroom door opens and Braelyn and Arwen are  stood there smiling "come on caitlinnnn, we need to get ready" Braelyn sings winking. I laugh getting embarrassed "see you later Legolas" I wave walking back into the room.

 
"You always embarrass me" I say to Braelyn as she does an evil laugh making us all laugh hysterically.
"Right lets go" I walk into the bathroom to wash up, I sort make up out and Arwen helps with my hair which is beautiful. "You look just like my own kind" Says Arwen.
"Definitely not, elves are so beautiful and graceful, I am the opposite of graceful" I reply looking at myself in the mirror.  "But that does remind me, I got a visit from Lady Galadriel this morning, she explained why it was me who appeared here from my world" I continue as they both look shocked and intrigued.
"What did she say?" Braelyn asks sitting closer.
"I am part of a prophecy to help Frodo and the ring and the fellowship, that was my prophecy to help them succeed" I explain as I laugh at how strange it sounds. "But there's more" I interrupt them before they could ask any questions. "A gift was given to me on arriving here..." I trail off. "What was the gift?" Arwen asks,
"immortality"
They both gasp, "does that mean your staying?" Braelyn asks in a low tone.
"Yes, kind of have to actually. Immortality is not normal in  my world and would not go well. But I'm happy because I want to stay" I tell them both. "Well that's an ice breaker, come on lets finish getting ready as we talk, don't want to be late" Braelyn giggles as we finish getting ready as I explain further.

 
Soon we had our dresses on and the dress Arwen gave me was beautiful, "made by myself" she tells me." Its beautiful, I don't know what to say" I stutter and turn to Braelyn who looks beautiful as well in a silver elvish dress. My dress has a dark blue bodice with a white skirt and sleeves. (see in picture)

"We are ready" I say standing after Arwen places flowers in my hair.
"You have an elf to find missy" Braelyn teases as I roll my eyes "right yes, can't avoid this conversation forever" I giggle. We walk out the room and head out the palace, the sun is shining bright and the courtyard is starting to fill with people. I see Legolas standing with Gimli, he looks great, handsome I mean. He sees me and stares, "see you too in a minute" I say as I walk towards Legolas. I say hi to Gimli before he leaves us alone.

 
We start walking to the side of the courtyard into the beautiful gardens of minis tirith. "What did you want to talk about?" I ask nervously.
"You" he says quietly as we sit down on a white seat.
"Me?" I repeat in a questioning tone.
"You and me, the quest... the whole journey of the fellowship" Legolas also sounds nervous which doesn't happen often which makes me smile because he is so sweet. "My feelings for you grew and I obviously couldn't hide those feelings from day one" he exclaims with a laugh making me smile at him.

 
"I know you're mortal and things may get complicated but I really like you and I don't think I will forgive myself if I leave without you" he explains facing me. I let out a small laugh which makes him confused.

"I'm immortal" I state which makes him even more confused. I tell him the whole story about Lady Galadriel and he looks very surprised. "I'm shocked as well. I just find out I was immortal this morning, I don't know how to feel about it yet" I sigh but laugh at how strange all this is.
"But on other news, I'm staying here, in middle Earth. I don't know where but somewhere" I laugh and I feel his hand slip in to mine.
I look up at him as his hand cups my face and pulls me to him. The kiss was bliss and felt better kissing him not after a battle. We separate knowing there is a coronation we have to get to, standing hand in hand we head back to the main courtyard. We take our place as the coronation begins.

"Now come the days of the king. May they be blessed. " Gandalf places the crown on the true King of Gondor.

"This day does not belong to one man but to all. Let us together rebuild this world that we may share in the days of peace. " Aragorn says with all the attention on him, I smile knowing he will be a great king. "Et Eärello Endorenna utúlien. Sinome maruvan ar Hildinyar tenn' Ambar-metta." he sings, quite good actually.  He starts to walk down the steps and walks the isle greeting those that he knows. I see Eowyn with Faramir a cute couple I will say.

Aragorn stops at Braelyn and shakes hands sending appreciative smiles to one another, we will always be grateful that we had each other. Legolas and I walk forward with many elves behind us, "Hannon le" Aragorn places a hand on Legolas' shoulder and I give him a hug knowing I probably won't be staying in Minis Tirith or maybe I will, I don't really know. "Good luck with everything " he says to us looking at our entwined hands.  We stand back to the side to let Arwen through, as soon as Aragorn sees her he pulls her into an embrace and they kiss very passionately I must say, I did have to awkwardly look away.
Aragorn meets the four hobbits who bow,  "My friends. You bow to no one. " he says bowing down onto one knee and soon everyone is bowing down to the four hobbits.

"Time to celebrate" Gimli cheers which means he's looking forward to the alcohol, I laugh as he runs indoors after the king and queen.

"What do I do now? I have no where to live" I say walking with Legolas and Braelyn with the hobbits not far behind. "I mean Lord Elrond said I could have a home in Rivendell but I know he will be sailing to the Valar soon" I say looking down.
"You could always come with me and Gimli we are traveling around Middle earth for some time. Then I will have to go back to Mirkwood, I am prince after all and heir to the throne" he explains.
"I would love for you to see Mirkwood, the elves are trying to improve it and change it back to how the forest used to be, greenwood" he explains, is that an invite? "I would love to go with you, and see Middle Earth" I say, he smiles in reply and kisses my cheek.

Celebrations are underway and I'm sat with the King or Aragorn as he has told us to call him, and Arwen, Gimli, Braelyn, the hobbits and Legolas. Feels good to be all together again with no one trying to attack us.

But that's where this adventure ends, I wonder where the next one will take me and see what happens between me and Legolas. I lean my head on his shoulder as I listen to the conversation of the fellowship.
