Thanks for giving my story a try even after reading the basic description I gave lol. I also wanna give a huge thank you and a shout out to my beta joyndlove1 thanks so much for telling me my writings not crap haha. I hope you guys enjoy the wild ride I plan to take you on.

"Congratulations Ry" I smile and hug my older brother Ryan, who just graduated from high school. "I'm proud of you son" Our dad tells him as I move out of the way so Ryan can hug him and our step-mom Lisa. I was only six when my parents got divorced and over the years they've both remarried but have stayed friends, which is pretty awesome." Thanks dad. Are we having my graduation party at your house or moms?"

When my dad moved out he was able to find a house around the corner from my moms house. Since they're so close together we often don't know where we're going to have big celebrations at until the very last minute. "We'll be at my house this time. Some of the family are already there putting the finishing touches on everything." We spend some time taking pictures and congratulating some other people before we decide to leave. I ride with my older sister Nicole straight back to dads house. On the way there we talk about the upcoming school year, Nicole's excited because it's going to be her last year and I'll be a junior.

Once we get to the house we're greeted by a huge banner that says "Congratulations Ryan" over the front door. We walk in to see our uncle Mike hanging streamers, he stops when he hears the door close and notices us. "Hey Nicole and Maya?" He says pointing to me then Nicole. I roll my eyes and Nicole sighs and shakes her head. Our dad and his sister Lisa have been married for five years now, you would think he'd be able to tell us apart after all this time.

"I'm Maya" "And I'm Nicole" we tell him. "Hey in my defense you guys look a lot a like" he says as he holds his hands up. Nicole and I often get mistaken for twins, that's how much we look alike. From our brown hair, to our baby blue eyes, and our permanent tanned skin but Nicole is taller than me being 5'7 while I'm just 5'4. We look exactly like our dad while Ryan looks more like mom, having moms black hair and button nose but dads eyes.

"Anyway" he rubs the back of his neck and looks at me "Maya a friend of yours showed up and let herself into your room. Just to let you know." I nod and say thanks before dashing upstairs to my room, knowing exactly who's waiting for me.

I open my door to find my best friend Cassidy laying on my bed on her phone. We've been friends ever since she moved next door to us when I was five. She's too engrossed in the video she's watching to realize I've come into the room so I gently close the door and take a moment to study her features. Her long sandy blonde hair is tied back in a messy bun. Light from my window slips through my open curtains and adds a golden glow to the light tan she's gained so far this summer. She giggles at something in the video and I swear I heard an angel sing. I start to feel this pulling sensation in my heart that I've been feeling around her for the past month and try to ignore it. There's no way I could have feelings for my best friend, let alone another girl, I'm not even gay.

I swallow and take a deep breath before flopping on my bed next to her and she turns to look at me with those beautiful green eyes.

Stop it! She's your best friend and neither one of us likes girls.

I tell myself hoping she can't read the conflict in my mind on my face. She rolls over on her side and brings a hand up to my face, I suck in a breathe and wait to see what she's doing. She moves a piece of hair from my face and smiles.

Why is this affecting me so much, this is the same Cass I grew up with.

"Took you guys long enough to get here." She says rolling back onto her stomach after she's satisfied that my hair is back where she feels it belongs. I let out the breathe I was holding and shrug my shoulders. "You know Nicky drives like an old lady." I tell her as I get back up and go open my closet.

"Help me find something to wear for this party" I hear her move around behind me then feel arms wrap around my waist as she lays her head on my shoulder and looks into my closet. "Aw come on now everyone knows you're the boho babe. Just work your magic."

Damnit she smells so good. Maybe if I don't say anything she'll stay wrapped around me a little longer.

I sigh and remember that I'm not gay and reach for some shorts, a white crop top, and my brown fringe jacket. "I don't wear boho that much...do I?" I ask throwing my clothes on my bed. "To be honest, I don't know who wears it more: you or Vanessa Hudgins" she laughs as she sits in my desk chair. I stick my tongue out at her and turn around to get dressed. I hear music from downstairs start so I assume Ryan has finally gotten here.

I put my jacket on and do a little twirl, "What do you think?" Cass stands up and puts a finger on her chin pretending to be deep in thought. "Hmm something's missing." I frown and look down at myself, "I know!" She snaps then goes over to my dresser and looks through my jewelry holder. "Ah here we go" she pulls out my favorite dream catcher belly ring. Cass walks over and kneels down till she's eye level with my belly button then looks up at me with a raised eyebrow. "I couldn't wear it with the dress I was wearing at Ry's graduation, it would've gotten caught on the material." I roll my eyes as I explain. She nods, puts it in for me, then stands so we can make our way downstairs.
