My Full Eclipse

Chapter 8

"Maya Lexi's here." Ryan calls out from downstairs. "Well send her up here then." I shout back. It's been about a month since that day I met Lexi at the mall. We went on a couple of dates before she asked me to be her girlfriend and I said yes. I really do like her a lot but I still have these feelings for Cassidy. It's really conflicting and sometimes awkward.

I'm sitting up on my bed with my back on my headboard watching tv when there's a knock on my door. Lexi sticks her head in and smiles at me before coming in. I pat the space next to me and she takes her shoes off and joins me on my bed. "Hey babe." She kisses my cheek and wraps an arm around me then leans back.

"Hey. You didn't have to work today?" Lexi works part time at her dad's car dealership. There's not much she can do other than paperwork and answering the phone so she doesn't go in a lot. "Nah I told him I wanted to come see my number one girl." She grins. "Aww that's so sweet babe." I kiss her then turn back to the tv. My phone goes off and I grab it to see who it is.

Cass: Hey whatcha up to?
Me: Just hanging out with Lexi
Cass: Of course you are 🙄
Me: Is that a problem?
Cass: No it's fine, whatever. Go be with your girlfriend

What the hell is her problem?

Me: What's with the attitude?
Cass: It's nothing! I'm fine.
Me: Cassidy.
Cass: Maya.
Cass: Look you're obviously busy and I'm fine with it. Hit me up later if you actually remember me for once.
Me: What do you mean "if I remember you"?

Cassidy reads my message but doesn't text me back after that.

If I remember? What the actual fuck? And since when does she leave me on read in the middle of a conversation.

I put my phone on my bedside table, not wanting to dwell on the mini argument we just had. "You ok babe?" I turn to see Lexi looking at me concerned. "Yeah I'm fine..." I debate in telling her what happened and decide I don't have anything to lose. "Cassidy was just being bitchy to me." I try to focus back on whatever's on tv but Lexi takes the remote and mutes it before turning back to me. "Come on let's talk about it. Cause as cute as you are when you're pouting like that" she grabs my cheeks "I can't have you being all upset like this."

I can't help but smile a bit at her antics. "I'm not pouting. But if I was it wouldn't be cute." I tell her and she scoffs. "You're right it's not cute, it's fucking adorable." She says before kissing me on my nose. I giggle and scrunch my nose up. "I think you missed."

"Oh I'm sorry, here let me try again." She gives me a brief but sweet kiss. "That's all I get?" I wrap my arms around her neck and she throws her head back dramatically . "Ugh you're sooo needy." She exaggerates and I roll my eyes before leaning in to capture her lips in a kiss. Lexi pulls me into her lap and one of her hands finds its way into my hair as the kiss deepens. I can taste the cigarette she smoked earlier on her and make a mental note to talk about it later.

Cassidy wouldn't taste like cigarettes.

Cassidy smells better too.

Lexi smells nice too. What are you playing at here mind?

I'm just saying Cassidy's probably a better kisser too.

Oh lord I'm sitting here arguing with myself about my best friend and my girlfriend. I've officially lost it.
