I dash back outside not even bothering to hang up my phone and see Ryan rolling on the ground with Dave. The patio table is knocked over and a chair's been thrown across the lawn. "You fucking asshole!" Ryan yells as he manages to get on top of Dave and punches him before Dave rolls them over again.

"Stop it David!" Mom shouts as Dave manages to get an arm around Ryan and puts him in a choke hold. Ryan tries to squirm his way out but Dave gets behind him and has Ryan's neck in the crook of his elbow.

Ryan's in trouble right now because of me. I can't just let this happen

I run over to them and try to push Dave off Ryan. Before I know happens I'm flat on my ass seeing spots, I slowly start to realize that Dave hit me. Unfortunately for him that's the moment my dad showed. "WHAT THE HELL!!" I hear my dad roar and feel someone try to help me up, I look up to see Nicky and my mom helping me to my feet. By now dad's pounced on Dave and pulled them apart and is holding Ryan back. "I'm gonna count to 3 before I let him go and we whoop your ass together for hitting my baby girl. 1..."

"Look Max I don't give damn what your little dyke of daughter does just as long as she-" Dave's cut off by my dad's fist crashing into his face. Dave puts a hand to his nose as it bleeds and starts to get in dad's face. "Say something else you little shit cause the odds are in our favor. I don't know who you think you are, trying to kick my daughter out of a house that I paid for long before you were even in the picture." Dad chuckles at this and shakes his head.

"It's a damn shame it is. The only person that's leaving is you Dave. So go pack your shit and go" dad says pushing him back. Dave looks from him to my mom and back. "Fine but I'm taking my boys with me." He says spitting out some blood "The hell you are." Mom protests from next to me "You aren't taking my sons anywhere David." "Look Alice I'll call the cops and-" Dave steps towards us and my dads arm shoots out in front of him to stop him "Ah di da. You're close enough from right here and if she says the boys stay then they're staying." I think if you look close enough you can see the smoke coming out of Dave's ears by this point.

Dad shrugs, pulls his phone out and holds it out towards him. "Here call the cops and tell them how you struck not one but two of my children. One of which happens to be a young woman and let's let them decide if you can take your children with you." Dave looks furious as dad shakes his phone in front of him. "Nuh un here take it, go ahead and do it. Call the police go ahead, I'll dial the fucking number for you." Dad goes to unlock his phone and Dave knocks it out of his hand.

"Fine Max, I'll go. But you can't keep me from my kids forever." Dave growls. "It's not up to me to decide if you can see your kids or not. My job is to love and protect my children which I do a damn good job of. It's up to Alice if you'll be able to see the boys again. Let me fill you in on a secret though, fighting her son and insulting her daughter doesn't make her want to leave her young sons with you pal."

"Maya your face." Nicky whispers to me. Apparently my cheek split open and started bleeding and I didn't notice it. Nicky, mom, and I make our way into the house to clean my face. I notice Lisa in the living with the boys when we walk past. I hear her gasp but see her reaction as we head to the kitchen counter. Mom gets an ice pack ready and Nicky goes to get the first aid out of moms bathroom. Mom grabs a paper towel and wets it before wiping some of the blood off my cheek. I can't tell how bad it is since I haven't sent it yet but I'm definitely starting to feel it and it brings along its companion headache.

This is all my fault. If I never had these feelings then this would never have happened.

I sigh and hang my head and mom stops dabbing my cheek. "Maya none of this is your fault. No one would have guessed that David would act like this." Mom tells me grabbing my face and making me look back up at her. "Don't go blaming yourself, do you hear me." "Yes ma'am." I mumble pulling my face from her hand.

Lisa comes back in Nicky's place with the first aid kit. Lisa's a nurse so I guess the cut must be worst than I thought. "How's your face feeling kiddo?" She asks opening up the kit, pulling out alcohol to clean my face with and a bandage to put over it. Mom pulls out a chair for me to sit in and I hold my head up for Lisa to see and she frowns. "Was he wearing a ring?" She asks and I feel the sting of the alcohol. "His class ring." My mom tells her and Lisa nods. "I figured so, the cut is a little too deep to be caused just by his hand. She'll need stitches for this, don't worry we don't have to go the hospital. I have everything I need to do it at home."

By this point the cut under my left eye and my head are throbbing in sync with one another. Lisa puts some gauze and tells me to hold it in place while we make our way home. We make our way back to the living room and see dad and Ryan sitting down and Nicky playing with the boys. I guess Dave's already left. "'Max Maya needs stitches so we're gonna head back to the house." Lisa says placing a hand on my shoulder. Dad jumps up and comes over to look at my face.

"Oh my little princess." He whispers looking at my cut. "Do you want daddy to carry you back to the house?" He asks and I roll my eyes. "Daddy I need stitches on my cheek, I'm not crippled geez." I tell him putting the gauze back to my face.

"My tough little princess" he corrects his earlier statement. "You guys go ahead we're gonna stay behind and help your mom and brothers pack some clothes. They're gonna stay with us till we can get the locks changed on this house and ours, and I feel better knowing we're all safe under one roof." "I'll go with them just to be safe." Ryan says getting up and dad nods. "Alright and after Lisa finishes with your sister let her look at you too Ali" Ryan grins and nod before we start to make our way outside. I go to open up the front door and I'm met with none other than Cassidy.
