There's a hand softly moving on my back and lips whispering closely to my ear. But I don't hear what's being said, I'm way too relaxed to actually listen.
"Maya..." I hear Cass before I feel her lips on my cheek. I crack one eye open to look at her and she smiles upon seeing that I'm awake.
"Come on we have school." I shut my eyes and bury my head back into my pillow. "Aw come on now, I wanna see those beautiful baby blue eyes of yours." She runs her hand through my hair. "No being cute this early in the morning." I say into my pillow before sitting up.
"You hate getting up in the morning, why are you up before me?" I narrow my eyes at her in suspicion. "I wanted to look extra cute today for you"
Aww she's so cute.
"I also want all the guys to be jealous when you reject them and tell them about your new super hot girlfriend." She beams.
And there is the Cassidy I know.
"Girlfriend?" I raise an eyebrow at her and she shrugs. "Do you not want to be my girlfriend?" She asks puzzled. "I don't think that's anyway to ask someone out." I fold my arms.
She sighs before grabbing one of my hands. "Maya will you be my girlfriend?" I take a moment to pretend to think about it, as if I'd ever say no. She pouts at me and I take the opportunity to give her a quick kiss then tell her yes.
Once we've gotten ready we drive to school and hang out by our lockers until the bell rings. As we start to make our way to class some guys bumps into me causing me to drop my books. "Oh I'm so sorry, here let me help." He hurries to help me grab my books. I notice that he's kinda cute. He's tall with short dark brown hair, brown eyes and a dimpled smile. I'm sure the girls here will be as crazy about him as they were for Ryan.
"It's ok. Thanks for your help." I say as he hand my books back to me.
"It's the least I could do. I'm Derek." He holds a hang out and I shake it. "I'm Maya and this is my girlfriend Cassidy." Cass gives a small wave.
"It's nice to meet you. Uh do you think you could point in the direction of Mr. Grant's room? I'm kinda new and haven't exactly learned my way around yet." He rubs the back of his neck awkwardly.
"We're headed there ourselves, you can just walk with us." Cassidy tells him. Derek tells us a bit about himself as we walk down the halls. He just moved here with his mom so they can be closer to his dad and older sister. His parents are divorced and he chose to live with his mom while his sister chose his dad. We get to class and he takes a seat next to us since we're the closest thing to friends he has right now.
After our first class ends I say goodbye to Cassidy and tell her I'll see her at lunch. It turns out that Derek has the next two classes with me so I show him around on our way to class.
I'm practically bouncing in my seat at the end of third period. Cassidy and I are gonna tell Xander and Keisha that we're together at lunch. Other than our families and Derek no one knows that we are dating. It makes sense since we just started dating today but I'm still excited.
I'm waiting at the entrance to the cafeteria when I feel a hand slip into mine.
"Hey cutie, what are you doing all alone?" I turn to see Cassidy grinning. "Well if you must know I'm waiting for my super hot girlfriend." We start walking towards our usual table.
"Hey guys." Keisha greets us as we set our stuff down before we all join Xander in line. "So do you guys notice anything different about us today?" Cassidy asks holding out intertwined hands up. "Hmm nope you both look gay as ever." Xander jokes and I roll my eyes.
"You know one of these days that rumor that y'all are dating is gonna come back again." Keisha warns looking up from her phone.
"Let it." I smile and pull Cassidy in for a kiss. We pull away and see our friends, and some other students, looking at us in shock. "Wha-whe...how?" Keisha stutters out.
"Wait just a minute." Xander holds his hand up "You mean to tell me that you just came out few months ago and you're on your second hot girlfriend. But I can't get a cute guy to look at me? I call shenanigans." Cassidy laughs and shakes her head as I go to hug Xander.
"Wait so what happened with Lexi?" Keisha asks as we sit down once we have our food.
Maybe I shouldn't tell them since it's being handled.
"We uh-I broke up with her when I realized I had feelings for Cass." I partially tell the truth and its good enough for them as they nod in understanding. "How did you guys get together?" Xander asks with his mouth full. Keisha groans and tells him to swallow. "I do." He responds with a smirk.
"I'm going to pretend I didn't hear that." Cassidy shakes her head.
"Anyway I was tricked into this by Cass." I look at her to her grinning. "So the other day we were just sitting there going over out schedules and then she was all like dance with me.""It was a set up from the start, I only put like maybe three dance songs on it. The rest were all slow love songs." Cassidy reveals.
I should've known she planned for it to happen like that.
I lean over a quickly kiss her cheek before continue the story. "Before you know it one of those songs comes on and she pulled me close and the rest is history." I shrug. "I was done for the minute she grabbed my hand." I slide closer and put my arm around her waist.
"Aww I'm surprised I didn't see it coming. My gay dar must be on the fritz." Xander pouted.
"Or maybe it's cause they acted like this, minus the kissing, before they got together." Keisha points out and we nod in agreement.
All the hand holding, super long hugs, and walking each other to class is stuff we've always done. I just get to kiss Cass now, which is a definite bonus.
