"Let me see your schedule." Cass says before leaning over and taking it from me. "What was the point of asking?" I sigh as I double check to make sure I have all my supplies. Tomorrow is the first day of school.
"Not bad we have four classes together." She hands my schedule back to me. I feel an arm wrap around my shoulders. "You would think they know better than to put you two in a class together." Nicky chuckles as she studies my schedule. "Does Lexi go to our school?" She flops down next to me.
"Nah she goes to the private school across town." I tell them. I haven't said a word about what we talked about a month ago and things between us have been really good. But there is still one thing that's bothering me. I'm still getting notes like the one that came with a tulip.
Sometimes they come with a flower, sometimes it's just a note. I can't help but wonder who's sending these notes to me.
I already have my hands full with having feelings for both Lexi and Cass. The last thing I need is for somebody else to be thrown into the mix.
"I'm really not looking forward to getting up early tomorrow." Cass frowns and I just wanna do everything possible to make her smile. "I feel your pain." Nicky sighs. Her phone goes off and she tells us that Harrison is outside waiting for her before she leaves. "Let's dance." Cass turns to me randomly. I raise an eyebrow waiting for her to finish.
She grabs my hand and pulls me off the couch. "Come on My dance with me." She starts to play some music on her phone. She grabs my hands and starts to dance around, pulling me with her. I slowly start to dance with her. Before you know it we're jumping around the living room singing and dancing ridiculously to the music.
"Whoa, whoa, whoa, yeah"
I stop dancing and look toward her phone. "I'll uh change the song." I start to move towards the coffee table but she grabs my hand and pulls me back to her. "No, keep dancing with me." She says softly before wrapping an arm around me, pulling me closer. I wrap my arms around her as we sway gently to the music.
"Candles dripping on your body, baby this ain't truth or dare"
"Maya remember when you came out to me." She whispers sending shivers down my spine. "Mhmm."
"I never told you why I came back early." She pulls me closer to her body. It's then I realize how close we are, we're way closer than friends should be. The scent of vanilla engulfs me like a warm hug and I damn near lose my mind.
"Oh, oh, oh, and we can go slow, slow,
Yeah we can go slow, oh, oh, oh"She brings a hand up and runs it through my hair before cupping my cheek. "Maya" she breathes "I came back for you." In that moment my heart stops.
Did she just? She came back for me?
"Cass-" she cuts me off, "I wanted to tell you when I got home but that stuff went down. Then I had this plan to take you to the mall and get you a cute little bear and ask you out, but we ran into our friends. Then Lexi got to you first." She shakes her head.
Oh shit that's right I have a girlfriend.
"I know you don't feel the same way about me but-" I place my lips on hers cutting her off. It's gentle and slow, not like the kisses I've shared with Lexi. Those are always hurried and aggressive. This is the type of kiss r&b songs are about. God I never thought I'd get ahold of perfection but here it is, in my arms, kissing me back.
All too soon for my liking we have to pull back for air, I lean my forehead against hers. "I sent you those flowers and notes too. I loved seeing you smile when you told me about it." I smile at her confession.
"God Cass I wish you had said something sooner. Although I should have said something myself." I shake my head and she chuckles at me before giving me a quick but soft kiss. "So where do we go from here?" I ask biting my lip in anticipation. "You still have a girlfriend Maya." She points out
Oh shit that right. I forgot about her again.
"I'm supposed to see her after school tomorrow." I sigh before backing away and leaning against the couch. "You don't have to-" "I do" I cut her off "I want to be with you Cass." I reach for her hand to hold. "You have no idea how happy I am right now." I smile and pull her closer to me.
"You're all I want and I don't plan on letting you get away." I kiss the back of her hands then wrap her up in my arms.
