July, Year 2023, Faulkerson Residence:

" I dowt wayk the wain!" Charmaine complains.

"What's that sweetheart?" R asks their 3-year old as he sits beside her by the Parisian window seat.

The little girl ,fluffed between the yellow and white throw pillows in the sun room's window, sits with her face cradled on her hands and pouting.

R chuckles at the sight. Charm is a spitting image of his wife, Maine, from her tiny oval shaped face, to her almond eyes, brown hair, full lashes, prominent cheek bones, tiny nose, cleft chin and pouty lips. Except for her pale skin and dimpled cheek, Charm is an almost exact replica of her Mom.

"She said she does not like the rain, Papa." Thirdy tells his Dad, looking up from his desk where he is busy copying a picture from a book.

"Why don't you like the rain, sweetheart?" R asks, tucking C's hair behind her ear.

"I can't pway outside, just stay hewe and watch it." C sighs.

M walks in with Seb snugly wrapped to her body with a baby sling and sits beside C. She puts her arm over C's shoulder and kisses her forehead.

"It's okay, sweetheart. You know, there are a lot of things that you can do indoors while it's raining outside. Actually, Papa and I like the rain." M assures their daughter.

"We love the rain. It's special to us." R takes M's hand and smiles.

M smiles back at R. "It is very special to us."

This catches RT's curiosity. "Why is it special to you and Papa, Mama?" He asks, setting his crayon down.

"Well, it was raining when we first met." M starts.

"It was raining, when I first wrote your Mama a letter." R adds, squeezing M's hand.

"It was raining when we first saw each other in person."

"So a lot of special things happened to you while it was raining?" RT asks his parents.

"Yes." R&M reply staring at each other contentedly.

"There are so many other things, Thirdy." M says turning her attention to RT. "Like our time in Italy. It was always raining and when Mama got sick, Papa took very good care of me." M turns her hand under R's palm so she can hold his hand too and smiles.

"It was raining when I said "I love you" for the first time." R reminisces.

"It was raining when I said "I love you" back, weeks later." M giggles.

RT and C now watch as their parents, go down memory lane with big smiles on their little faces.

"Did it rain on your wedding day, Mama?" RT asks, now caught up in the string of happy memories of his parents.

"Yes. Actually, it did rain on both our weddings. What's amazing was it rained on our first wedding which was on a Summer day. It made it more special though." M narrates.

"It did." R smiles dreamily at his wife. "And, buddy, did you know, it was also raining when you were born?"

"Really, Papa?"

"Yes, there was a Typhoon actually. Luckily, Mama was already in the hospital when the heavy rains started. We almost named you after the storm, if your Mama didn't insist otherwise." R laughs.

"What's the name, Papa?"

"Teofilo. We were going to call you Pilo." R chuckles.

RT frowns and shivers. "Thank you for pushing to have your way, Mama. I don't like that name."
