Year 2024, Faulkerson Home:

R and M knew by now how challenging little bright minds must be. Both Thirdy and Charm, despite having different interests, are tireless machines of random questions. The couple are aware of how a parent must always be careful what to tell their little one because you never know what these sponges of information will absorb.

Sebastian, though only a few months old, have bright brown eyes always watching his surroundings and it's only a matter of time before he starts shooting them with questions. Good thing the Faulkerson couple has had plenty of practice with his elder siblings.

R and M decided early on to address the kids' questions with direct answers and facts and not sugarcoat them with mythical imagery except when the topic is too sensitive to be answered as is.

Like when Thirdy was almost three and asked why it was raining, M did not give him the usual response that because God is sad and those are His tears falling. Instead she took a bowl of water and some cotton and explained to Thirdy the whole process of evaporation, condensation and precipitation in the simplest ways she can using terms Thirdy understood at his age.

They went outside by the pool and sat on the table by the patio.

She took Thirdy to sit on her lap placed the bowl on the table in front of them and held the cotton in one hand.

"You know how the sun is really hot and makes the air hot right, Honey?" She asked gently.

The little boy nodded his head and smiled.

"Awesome. So, when the air gets too hot it makes the water from the ocean turn into water vapor." M said pointing to the bowl of water.

The little boy's eyes moved from the bowl to the pool, imagining the ocean from where they last went to the beach.

"Mama, what's water vapor?"

"It's still water, Baby, only it becomes invisible like air and floats to the clouds." M explained, showing Thirdy the cotton in her hand. "So, the water from the ocean go to clouds." She said dipping the cotton in the bowl.

Thirdy thoughtfully watched as she did so and waited for his mom to tell him what happens next.

"Then when the clouds become too heavy..." M said while slowly pinching the cotton making little drops of water fall from it. "They fall back to the ground and ocean." She was careful not to mention gravity doing that because she knew that would confuse Thirdy and should be discussed be with another demonstration.

Thirdy watched with wide eyes as M squeezed all the water back to the bowl.

"Wow. That's amazing, Mama." The little boy gasped.

"It is pretty amazing, isn't it?" M beamed. "Well, God is amazing that's why He made amazing things like you." She smiled and poked their son's little nose.

"And you, Mama." Thirdy said as he leaned his head on his mom's shoulder and clung to her neck.

"And me and Papa." M added, wondering how her husband was at work that time.

"Yes. And Papa and Charm." Thirdy smiled, thinking of his baby sister peacefully sleeping in the nursery.

"And Love." M whispered. "I love you, Thirdy."

"I love you, Mama."
