Pretty Dresses

M sits on a stool by the kitchen counter and smiles as she checks the list of the things already set for Charm's upcoming birthday.

The plane tickets to Tokyo have been bought by her Tatay. R has already booked the rooms for their stay in the Disneyland hotel and she has set a little celebration in one of their banquet rooms.

"Paano, Love? All set?" R asks as he sets a plate of pasta he just cooked on the counter.

"Almost, Love. Now, we have to ask Charm what she wants to dress up as."

"Oo nga. She did say she wants us to wear costumes." R says as he sits beside M.

"Yes, Love. At magdedepende sa gusto niya and theme ng party and costumes nating lahat."

"Sige, Love. We'll ask her later." R smiles and leans his head on M's shoulder as he peeks at the list. "Thank you for doing all this. I know sobrang stressful. Bakit ba kasi ayaw mong ipagawa na lang sa iba, Love?"

"You know me, Love. I want everything to be perfect for our little girl. Gusto ko alam ko lahat ng nangyayari and make the decisions." She answers and turns to R with a smile.

"Sabagay, Love. You know her better than anyone. Thank you." He leans forward and kisses her lips.

"Anything for my loves." She says and kisses his nose.  "I love you, Mister Richard Faulkerson Jr."

R grins, his left cheek showing his dimple and his eyes reduced to slits.

"I love you more and more and more, Mrs. Nicomaine Dei Faulkerson forever and always."

He lightly brushes his nose on hers then slowly touches his lips on his wife's and kisses her lovingly.

"Good evening, Mama. Good evening, Papa." Thirdy greets them as he walks into the kitchen with his iPad in hand.

R quickly presses one more kiss on M's cheek then turns to face his son.

"Hey buddy. Done with your homework?" R asks as he helps their eldest get up on one of the stools.

"Yes, Papa. I was going to ask Mama to check them." Their son answers as he paces his iPad on the counter. "And Papa, I am used to seeing you kiss, Mama. You don't have to pretend like you didn't just kiss her." He added.

R chuckles and shakes his head as M blushes and giggles on their son's remark.

"Let me see that, hon." M gets Thirdy's iPad and checks his homework.

"Heyow evewybody!!!" Charms calls, after a few minutes, as he runs to M's lap upon entering the room.

"Hi, sweetheart. Just the girl that I need." M says as she finishes checking Thirdy's homework.

"Very good, Kuya. You did everything so well."

"Thank you, Mama." Thirdy smiles.

"Why do you need me, Mama?" Charm asks.

"Well, baby, we need to ask you something about your birthday."

"My buwthday???" Charms asks as her eyes round up with excitement.

"Yes, sweetheart. We're almost all set but we need to know what you want to dress up as." M smiles.

"A pwincess, Mama." Charm beams.

"Wow. A princess! Ofcourse, baby. Which princess?" M asks as she shows pictures of princesses on her laptop.

"Here, baby, look." M says as she scrolls through the pictures.

"Wow! So many pweetty dwesses, Mama!" Charms says as she looks at each dress.

"Yes, sweetie. Did you see one that you like already?"

Charm furrows her eyebrows and twitches her lips as she thinks.

"Hmmm... I yike to be Wapunzel, Mama." The little girl finally decides.

"Rapunzel? I think she will suit you well. She is really pretty with her long golden hair and purple dress." M says.

"I think she's a good choice too, sweetheart." R adds. "Do you know that Rapunzel reminds me of your Mama?"

"Really, Papa? Why?" Thirdy asks.

"Because like Rapunzel, your Mama was once a girl who bravely faced a whole new world she stepped into and went on an amazing journey armed with her charm and natural wit. In the end, she was able to conquer that world and live happily ever after." R smiles.

"And like Rapunzel, I have your Papa as my Flynn Rider. A man who fearlessly climbed the tower to unexpectedly take me on an amazing adventure. A man who stayed and walked with me every step of the way."

"Like a real life fairy tale." Thirdy smiles.

"Yes, buddy." R agrees and holds M's hand.

"I am kiyig." Charm giggles as she watches her parent's exchange affectionate glances.

"I'm still kilig too, sweetheart." M laughs.

"I think Rapunzel is perfect for Charm because she is smart and brave like her." Thirdy says.

"Weally, Kuwa? Thank you."

"You're welcome, Charm. I love you."

"I wuv you, Kuwa." Charm smiles.

"And we love you too, kids." M says as she puts her arms over their shoulders.

"Yes. Very much." R adds and collects his wife and kids in a hug.

"Can we also have a tower on Charm's birthday, Papa and climb it?"

"We'll see, buddy." R answers.

"I want one, Papa." Charm pouts.

R pauses and thinks. "Okay but tell your Mama no ramen and laksa takeouts for a week."

M side eyes R. "And no in- game purchases for Papa."

"Okay. We'll have that tower. No questions asked. Tell your Mama buy all the ramen and laksa that she wants, Thirdy and I need to get that new upgrade for our king's armor." R grins. 💛💛💛
