Year 2023, Faulkerson Home:
M comes home from the hospital after giving birth to their third child, Sebastian.
Thirdy and Charm surprises her with a banner of cut-out letters that spell out "Welcome Home, Mama and Seb" , some balloons and streamers with the help of their Titas Riza and Angel and Tito Dean.
TD and DB excitedly show M the new 360 degrees smart rotation baby stroller and huge infant play yard they got for Seb. M thinks the gifts are too much and tells them that they still have all the gear from Thirdy and Charm intact but both granddads shrug off her arguments.
R smiles and gives M the bouquet of pink roses and carnations as the new baby is taken away by Coleen to show off to the rest of the family.
"Thank you, Love." He whispers in her ear and kisses her temple.
A special lunch is prepared by April and ND for the occasion and they all enjoy a wonderful meal to welcome the newest addition to the family who by that time is peacefully settled and sleeping in his nursery.
After eating, M excuses herself.
"Thank you sa lahat. Akyat muna po ako baka nagugutom na din si Seb." She smiles.
R assists her and goes with her. After some time, Thirdy and Charm quietly follow them to the nursery while M is feeding Seb.
They sit in silence, observing how M nurses their little brother, burps him, softly sings and rocks him to sleep and lays him back to the crib.
R smiles proudly at how their two older kids managed to control themselves with Thirdy occasionally shushing his overly excited little sister very patiently.
R&M each give Seb a kiss on the forehead then signal the kids who are eager to hold their baby brother to carefully kiss him.
They all then sit on the two seater couch in the room with Thirdy sitting on the armrest beside M and Charm on her Papa's lap and talk in hushed tones.
"Mama, is it twue that Seb-seb came fwom your bewwy?" Charm asks.
M hums an affirmative response with a smile. "Seb and you and Kuya Thirdy did."
The little girl's eyes widen in disbelief. "How did that happen, Mama? How did we get in there?"
R scoffs and looks away while M thinks of an answer.
"Papa God put us there." Thirdy says and they all look at him. "That's what you told me before Mama." He explains. "You told me the story about the seed."
"Oh, right." M agrees. "You see, sweetheart, when a man and woman, that's a grownup boy and a grownup girl..." She clarifies for their little girl.
Charm nods her to show she understands while Thirdy listens closely and R looks on with a grin.
"Okay. So most of the time when and a man and a woman like Papa and Mama meet and fall in love, they... uhm... will choose to be together and be with each other all the time." M says.
"So... A time will come when Papa God will eventually bless the man and the woman with a gift and place in the woman's belly like a seed that eventually grows into a little baby." She smiles.
Charm gasps. "Seb is the gift!" She exclaims.
"Yes, sweetheart but not just Seb. You and Kuya and Seb are gifts given to us by God. Our own little miracles." M tells them and hugs Thirdy and Charm.
"Mama? What if the parents are not together?" Thirdy asks.
"What made you ask that, buddy?" R tells their son.
"My friend from school, Ben said his parents are not together and that he was a mistake." Thirdy says.
"A mistake?" M prods Thirdy to go on.
"Ben said that's what he heard his Tita tell his Mama." Their little boy explain and both R and M feel a pang in their hearts for his friend. No child deserves to be called that.
"Every child is a blessing and gift whether their parents are together or not. God doesn't make mistakes. Every child is a miracle who brings love for their Mama and Papa and everyone around them." R says.
"Like you all brought us love and now we have more love to give." M smiles.
R&M wrap their kids in a warm embrace as they tell them how much they love them and thank God for the miracle of a family they were blessed to have. 💛🍃
