Beth's POV
I throw my toiletry bag into my larger duffle bag before looking around the room to see if I've missed anything. I quickly remember our passports and grab them out of the drawer, throwing them in and zipping the bag up.
Harry had been sweet enough to invite us all to stay at his place for a few days instead of just overnight.
I wonder if he knew what he was getting himself into with three kids?
And I figured since he's messaged me to stay for longer, rather than not at all, meant he was only a tiny bit annoyed with me.
I'm sure we'll be having a conversation about that later.
I pick up my bag and sling it over my shoulder and walk out of my bedroom and downstairs.
"Have you kids packed everything?" I shout out, "we'll be gone a few days so make sure you have your toothbrushes, pyjamas, chargers, the important stuff!"
"Yes mum!" one of them yells back.
No you don't.
Someone will have forgotten something for sure.
I put my bag down at the door and check the time.
4pm.
I would have thought Harry would have been here by now.
"Mummy!" Chloe calls from the lounge.
I walk in and see her at the window.
"Come look," she gestures to me.
I go over and peek out to see what's got her excited.
Freaking horses.
"Aren't they pretty?" she sighs.
"Yes, from a distance," I reply.
Horses terrify me but she adores them and has spent the better part of her life dreaming about owning one.
"Ooh look at that light brown one," she points.
"You've only ridden ponies though," I remind her.
"Yeah but I've ridden Rocket and he's bigger than a pony," she replies.
"Yes but Rocket is a small horse, not like these," I gesture.
Rocket is one of many horses that belongs to a friend of mine and quite often Chloe will visit and see her horses.
A knock at the door interrupts us which is probably not a bad thing as I'm sure it was about to get heated between Chloe and I.
I quickly walk over and open the door.
"Hey," Harry stands there smiling at me, "ready to go?"
"Absolutely," I reply, "kids, Harry's here, let's go!"
I turn back around to pick up my bag and see that Harry's already grabbed it and is walking over to his car with it.
I could have done that myself.
The kids come walking past me with their backpacks as well as clutching items in their hands and over to Harry's car.
"That's my spot!" I hear Chloe snap, "move over!"
Harry stops and leans into the back.
"Where does Chloe sit back home?" he asks them.
"I always sit behind Mummy," she frowns crossing her arms over her chest before her eyes widen, "but I guess I'm sitting behind you now Harry."
