Chapter 23: The Finale

Leo: "What is going on?"

Elizabeth: "Nothing, I just wanted to talk to you before another minute goes by."

Leo: "Ok."

Elizabeth: "Well, remember how you told me you were going to leave the day after graduation to Spain for a movie opportunity."

Leo: "Yes... and..."

Elizabeth: "Well I haven't been able to stop thinking about it....."

Leo: "If you are worried that we won't keep in contact, that could never happen."

Elizabeth: "I know that could never happen. But I was also thinking about what we agreed to at the bonfire. How we will take things slow and stay friends for right now."

Leo: "Yeah.."

Elizabeth: "The truth is I .... I ...."

Leo: "What?"

Elizabeth: "I have never stopped loving, and I wanted to get back together and I know it is crazy because you are leaving halfway across the world, but I decided to go with you."

It has been five minutes and Leo has not moved or said a single word.

Elizabeth: "Leo.... Leo!"

Leo: "Sorry I just can't believe what you are saying. You are still in love with me and have kept this from me all this time. And you have decided on your own that instead of following your photography career and go with me to Spain."

Elizabeth: "Yes."

Leo: "Liz..."

Elizabeth: "I know it is sudden but we can make this work, right?"

Leo: "Liz, when I told you I was leaving I was not expecting anything from you. Yes I still love you, but I don't want you to stop your career so we can have time together."

Elizabeth: "Wait, are you saying you don't want me to go to Spain with you?"

Leo: "I want you to more than anything in the world."

Elizabeth: "I don't understand what you are telling me?"

Leo: "I am saying don't go to Spain because you are afraid you might loose me."

Elizabeth: "Maybe you don't understand what I am saying. I love you! Which means no matter what I do in my life I will always choose you because you are the one thing, the one person I love more than this entire world we live in. And I decided to go to Spain because I would rather spend time with you in a romantic city then spend four years in a dorm thousands and thousands of miles away from you!"

After all that I have said, Leo just stares at me. He stares at my eyes then suddenly leans into my personal space and then his lips are touching mine. Never did we ever share a kiss with one another that was so passionate and beautiful.

Leo: "I love you too."

Finally we are together and will continue being together after graduation. My journey I thought would begin after graduation. Having to move after my mother's passing, being abandoned by my father, being reunited with my dad, finding out my dad and my aunt were in love. Everything that happened this year has changed my life. And my journey will continue with Leo at my side.

The only thing that was missing was my mother. My aunt says that no matter what she is always there with me in spirit. The truth is I do, wherever I go I feel her standing beside looking after me. I know I won't ever forget her, there will always be a special place for her inside my heart.
