Chapter 22: Last Day in Paradise

After our talk at the pier we decided to go down to the boardwalk. There is all sorts of shops and food places. This weekend there is a music festival happening at the amphitheater and a lot of arts and crafts booths are setup by the sidewalks.

We each bought a few stuff and knowing me I also took a lot of photos. Leo had bought a couple of shirts and two hats. Myself I bought a couple of bracelets, a hat, and a cute boho dress.

After shopping we got hungry and stopped at a burger joint. Yes I know vegans don't eat hamburgers but after all they do have a vegan burger.

Leo: "I will take a monster burger with a large fry and a coke."

Elizabeth: "I will take a vegan burger and a large chocolate shake and large fry."

Leo: "You must be hungry."

Elizabeth: "Hey I like to eat. You may joke about everything else but when it comes to food don't mess with me."

The afternoon came to an end; these past four hours felt like 30 minutes. Why does everything have to end so soon. Leo is leaving and who knows when I will ever get to spend time alone with him. Why does life have to be so difficult?

For the next couple of weeks I focused on final exams and which college I would want to go to. I got excepted into two different universities for photography; (1) New York University and (2) University of Illinois at Urbana - Champagne. Either way I can't help but think about Leo leaving and how much I wish he wasn't.

Through the two weeks, exams have been difficult and am really getting nervous as the days of graduation are getting smaller and smaller. Each time I look at the calendar, the day for when Leo leaves is coming. I can't stop him from going but I can't let him go. I just don't understand what I am suppose to do. What I needed was to talk to friends about this. So I called Dove, Zendaya, and Laura for a slumber party.

Once I called them within minutes they were all gathered in my bedroom.

Zendaya: "Ok, so what's up?"

Dove: "Yeah, why did you call us all over here?"

Elizabeth: "Leo is leaving to Spain to shoot a film the day after graduation and I have tremendous feelings for him and I don't want to be selfish and ask him to stay or wait for me. But deep down inside I REALLY DO!"

Laura: "Wow!"

I thought inviting them to a slumber party it would help from three other perspectives but I was wrong. Maybe this situation is just too complicated and no one can figure a simple solution.

Dove: "Why don't you just leave with him?"

Elizabeth: "What do you mean?"

Zendaya: "You know, travel to Spain with him if you feel this STRONG and DEEP connection you say you do."

Elizabeth: "Well I never actually thought that would have been possible."

Laura: "Well she can't just buy a ticket to Spain arrive at his hotel room and say SURPRISE!"

Zendaya: "No. But she will have to do something extremely brave."

Elizabeth: "What is that?"

Zendaya: "Tell him how you feel."

Elizabeth: "You expect me out of all people to say to Leo, a few days before he leaves, I am completely in love with you."

Dove: "Well, yeah."

Elizabeth: "I CAN'T DO THAT!"

Laura: "Yeah, I mean what if he doesn't feel the same way or worse doesn't want her to go with him?"

Zendaya: "Laura, why wouldn't he? You were there when he was talking to us, about you know."

Laura: "That's right. No, Z is right Liz. Just go admit your feelings to him."

Dove: "And you should do it tonight while you have the courage to do so."

Zendaya: "Yup."

Elizabeth: "Wait a minute. What was Leo talking about to you guys?"

Laura: "Nothing important."

Zendaya: "No, he was just asking about you the other day in the café. Nothing you should worry."

Elizabeth: "No, now I really want to know."

Zendaya: "Ok, but you didn't hear it from us... He was asking if we have spoken to you since he told you about the movie. We didn't hear anything from you until now."

Dove: "And Z wanted to know why and asked him."

Laura: "Turns out that he was hoping you would have stopped him from taking it or didn't want to talk to him at all."

Dove: "Liz, he has tremendous feeling for you as well and that is why tonight you should proclaim your love or else you won't and may regret it."

The were right, it is now or never. Going to have the girls text Leo to meet me at the place where our story began so we can talk. Meanwhile I am getting dressed and climbed out of the window and began going to the beach by the pier.

It has been a few minutes I am getting anxious as time continues to pass by. I look over the ocean and began to think about how people once thought the world was flat. Over the horizon is the point where you fall. However scientists have proven that the world is actually round and due to gravity we will never fall off from Earth. I am only hoping that Leo and I have a love for each other like the planet Earth. It is a full circle that we can not break away.

Then I begin to see someone walking towards me. And I knew that has to be Leo.
