After my aunt's fourth glass of red wine and six rounds of games my aunt was done for the night. Something startled me, my aunt has a tendency of talking in her sleep and well my aunt said vaguely, "Oh Bill, what are we doing?" What startled me was that my dad's first name was Bill, and then the we which included her. The photos and now this question from my aunt makes it clear that something is going on, and it has been for quit some time.

The clock struck 11 o'clock and I couldn't bare sitting alone in a quit house. My mind road along the beach, hearing the waves clash against the sand and rocks and how peacefully it is with no one in sight. I planted a spot on the cool sand and looking out into the dark horizon and began to think of the different outcomes to this secret that my dad and aunt are hiding. The moment of thoughts stopped when someone familiar appeared in my presence. Leo, go figure! "Elizabeth, is that you?" Alone hearing that voice made my head cock to the side for an identification. "Leo, what a nice surprise." The sarcasm was clear as glass, "So why are you out here at this hour?" I didn't know he had such a laugh, then I began to soften each time I get a chance alone with him. "Just thinking about things. And you?" I turn to give a friendly smile. "Same, and by the way, you have a beautiful smile." I shuffle my hair and look at the sand while my smile grew with nerves. Never did I anticipate a feeling like this between anyone; especially him.

"Have you ever thought about what your life would be like if something never happened?" The moment became serious and more emotional. "Yeah, like sometimes I wondered if my mom didn't die or if my father never left; I'd still wondered if my life would be better or worse? Or even if my family would still be a family?" Leo looks at me and his heart had dropped. "I'm sorry about your mom. I had no idea! Were you two close?... I mean you don't have to answer if you don't want too, not trying to pry or anything." Leo became nervous as if he said something wrong or seemed to come off as a noise idiot. "No it's good to talk to someone about it, yeah we were. She gave me everything I needed and wanted. She knew how I felt and what to say and what not to say." "I wish I had someone like that for me. Someone to be there supporting what you do not judging you or telling you how you should live your life and what choice you should make. Being an actor you would think everything is perfect. The truth is, my family doesn't want to support me and the people that work for me are only in it for the money. Reporters want to get into your personal life and it's hard to find someone you can trust." We both sat in silence for a while, before any of us knew time was ticking by each minute and second.

"SNAP! I got to go its midnight." I spring up to my legs and wipe off all the sand. Leo stands with me and we both stared into each others' eyes with a spark. "Yeah I better go to..", then Leo leans in an gives me another cheek-kiss, and this one was without a script or an audience. This one was for real and our relationship has took a different path. "Thanks, it was nice having a friend again." "Same", and I walked with the wind while Leo went in the opposite direction as we both kept turning to look at one another.

THE NEXT DAY...

Same morning routine on a school day and went through the same classes with the same people. Although whenever I saw Leo and Leo saw me; we make eye contact all the time. After not speaking and yet seeing him like four times; I had it. During the transition from 3rd to 4th I stopped at my locker to put away a few items and then a couple lockers down there was Leo Howard once again. "Hey, do you want to sit with me and the others at lunch?" He looks at me with a smile and responds sincerely, "Sure I could use a change." That made my day, "OK see you during lunch then." And left for dance; major problem: How am I going to tell Zendaya, Luke, Dove, Laura, Ross, and Spencer? Not only that, Olivia (the SHE-DEVIL) will make another dramatic scene. DRAMA AWAITS!

"Hey Liz, it's OK if I could call you Liz right?" Zendaya quivers and for a response I nod in an enthusiastic way. "Zendaya I need to ask you something?" My nerves are going bonkers. She looks at me with a serious face (don't know if that's a good sign or not) but I know I have her full attention. "Do you think it would be fine if Leo sits with us at lunch today?" My smile is awkward and still waiting for Zendaya to speak. At this point anything is good, as long as she talks.

"Zendaya..." I can't believe I made her speechless. "I'm fine, and I don't think I would mind. I just didn't know you to had a secret fling going on. You got him!" She starts nudging me and then I became defensive. "What are you talking about, Leo and I are friends and plus last night we talked..." I was interrupted by the girl who can never shut up. "You talked to him LAST NIGHT!" I give her a 'DUH' look.

"All we did was talk, but we have an understanding of one another, but that's all there is NO secret fling between us." With a dead straight face she knew I was admitting the truth, then shortly after class started and we began to learn our prep rally performance.

Bell rang and time for lunch, I'd promised Leo I would meet at the locker before that way he didn't have to walk alone (then again he could take care of himself). But all i cared about was being next to him again, for some odd reason I liked the feeling he gives me when we are together. When Leo and I got our lunch we pulled into the direction to where everyone was sitting at. Luckily I was glad to see to empty seats waiting for us.

"Hey guys", I say with joy. "Hey!" Everyone says and acts like its just another normal day. My nerves calmed down afterwards, "So are you two like a thing now?" Dove asks then everybody stares. I look at Leo and Leo looks at me and we now feel awkward. "No, no, no we are just friends." We say simultaneously. Everyone looked disappointed.

"Leo aren't we suppose to be rehearsing." Then the SHE-devil showed with envy and jealousy.

"Olivia for one day I would like to hangout and relax. We can practice after school." Never in my dreams would I have thought to have heard Leo say anything remarkably close to what he told Olivia.

After school I planned on walking home but this nice red antique mustang came up and Leo was the driver.

"Hey do u want a ride?" he asks.

I nod with a smile and he takes me home. When we reach my aunt's house he asks me about this Saturday's volleyball tournament.

"Are you going to this weekends volleyball tournament?"

"What volleyball tournament?" my question seemed to be a surprise to him.

"Every year since the class of 1978 we have a volleyball tournament for all high schoolers and I am playing for our male division. So if your not doing anything and you want to come I could give you a ride?" Leo's face is awkwardly nervous.

If you ever seen That Awkward Moment with Zac Efron, this scene would be in that movie. As I was thinking I would go to support my friends and take great photos but if I go with him people are going to start questioning our friendship.

"Well I have something to do in the morning, but I think I can make it. So I will see ya there. Thanks for the invitation." And just like a dork I hurried on before he could persuade me to go with him.
