"You don't know who I am," he told her darkly, when she expressed her feelings for him. "You don't know what I'm capable of."
"That doesn't change what I feel," she told him softly, looking into his eyes... they were the eyes of her hero.
He wiped the sweat off his brow and picked up his gun, pointing it directly at her chest.
"How can you trust me to not pull this trigger?" he asked her, nothing but seriousness in his tone.
She looked at him with her flushed cheeks, with a glow on her face from being in love, and a smile so serene that he was afraid to let it drop.
"You saved me. I know that you can't ever kill me," she answered him with so much confidence, not knowing how wrong she was.
He lowered the gun and looked into her eyes, despising himself for having to break this confidence.
He hadn't brought her here to protect her, but rather he kidnapped her to kill her. She didn't know his identity, nor did he know hers.
How could this terrorist have ever known that he would fall in love with the girl that he had been ordered to kill? How could this terrorist have ever known that this girl was connected to him on a far deeper level? How could this terrorist have ever known that she had come back into his life to guide him out of a world of hate?
This terrorist didn't know.
He was a terrorist, but ironically, he was being terrorized in his own game... he was being terrorized by love.
