Aditya was shaking. He didn't know whether she was his Mahima or not, but the small thought that she could possibly be, was enough to send him into a craze. Why was he so crazy still, for a girl he knew he hadn't forgotten, yet left behind. Yes, she was no longer in his life, but she occupied his thoughts. It was almost impossible to get rid of her. She meant so much to him at one point.

"Your Mahima?" Mahima replied, sounding confused. "Of course I'm your Mahima."

Mahima didn't understand why he sounded so surprised. She didn't know why he was acting like he recognized her now when they had spent weeks together.

"I didn't mean that," Aditya said and he took Mahima's hand and squeezed it tightly.

He was nervous. He was scared to know the truth. What if she really was his Mahima? Then what would he do? It would only make it even harder to kill her.

"What do you mean?" Mahima asked, lost.

How could he ask her whether she was the Mahima he knew as a child? How could he do that without revealing his identity? How could he deal with the burden this would place on his heart if she really was that child? And if she wasn't, how would he deal with that recurring void that kept coming back, that only the childhood Mahima could fill.

He couldn't.

It was better for him not to know. He was doomed either way.

"Nothing," Aditya replied and looked away from her, letting go of her hand.

His heart was still beating fast, because he felt something inside his chest, that almost guaranteed that this was his Mahima. She must be. Yet, he was scared to get confirmation.

"Aren't you two tired?" Laksh's voice called from the doorway, and the two of them turned around to see his yawning figure.

"I'm tired," Aditya agreed and stood up.

Mahima got up too and followed Aditya inside the room. He got into bed and she joined him.

"What is one thing you want to do before you die?" Aditya asked her, causing her to look up at him with a shocked expression on her face.

"Huh?" Mahima asked.

"If you were to die tomorrow, what would you like to do today?" Aditya asked her softly.

"I don't know," she admitted. "But why are we talking about death? It's like you've only been talking about last day's today."

"I just want to know," he mumbled, then he looked at her with a sparkle in his eyes. "Would you marry me?"

Mahima's eyes widened.

"What?" she asked, really shocked now.

"It's a yes or no answer," he pointed out. "Would you?"

"Y - yes, I guess," she stammered. "But is this a proposal?"

Aditya grinned at her and she blushed slightly, knowing that it was.

"Let's get married," he told her.

Was this for real? Mahima didn't know what to say to him. She didn't know whether this was just stupidity or foolishness, but it didn't seem practical to get married right now.

"We're in the middle of the forest," Mahima informed him. "How are we going to get married?"

Aditya got up and turned on the light to the room. Mahima sat up on the bed.

"It's really easy actually," he informed her.

There was a candle on top of the dresser with matchsticks next to it. He used the matchsticks to light the candle and placed it in a candle holder, before putting it on the ground.
