That night, Ajay took her to his mom and introduced her as Mahima Gupta, on her request. He told his mom that he wanted to marry her, and she agreed. The elderly lady placed her hand on Mahima's head and lovingly told her, "I am happy to have found a beautiful daughter in law."
Ajay said that he wanted to marry her this weekend itself, since in two days he had to go back to Mumbai for his job. They quickly prepared for all the rituals and Mahima kept her heart as a stone and went through everything. Finally, they got married.
It was only after the marriage that Ajay confessed something that he may not have confessed had they not gotten married. They were sitting down inside the same old hut, on the bed, when he told her, "I fell in love with you from the moment I saw you."
Mahima looked up at him, shocked.
"I have no idea how that's possible," Mahima retorted. "Just let me find my Dev and this burden will be off my shoulders."
Ajay shook his head and smiled.
"Sleep well," he told her, and he closed his eyes, falling asleep on the bed immediately.
Mahima hesitantly fell asleep next to him.
That night, when she had nightmares about Dev, they weren't about him leaving her, but rather about him getting killed. She woke up with a start in the middle of the night, sweating profusely. Then she broke down into tears.
"D - dev," Mahima sobbed.
Ajay woke up too and looked at her with confusion.
"You okay?" he asked her.
"I need to find Dev. Please help me," Mahima begged. "I am so scared. I don't know where he is. I don't know if he's okay. I need to find him."
"Relax. We'll look for him. You sleep," Ajay replied.
Mahima nodded and laid back down, closing her eyes again.
This time, her nightmare was about Aditya. They were children, and the terrorists had come and taken him. It was the same nightmare that played over and over again.
She woke up again, and sobbed, "Aditya..."
Ajay opened his eyes and turned to look at her again.
"Who is Aditya now?" he asked her.
"My childhood friend. Terrorists took him," Mahima whispered.
"Is he alive?" Ajay asked.
"I don't know," Mahima confessed.
"Then he's probably one of them now," Ajay said, shrugging his shoulders. "There is one famous terrorist with that name. Aditya Velhankar I think."
The gasp that escaped Mahima's lips was so loud that she scared herself. Her whole body started to shake and her teeth started to chatter.
Aditya Velhankar, her childhood friend, was now a terrorist?
