We walked into the potions classroom slowly, Harry's first attempt to get that memory. We took our places in class, waiting for it to began. People slowly filled the room, Mione and Ron came rushing in. "Did you do it yet?" Ron whispered, looking around to make sure no one heard.
"No. We're doing it at the end." Harry's eyes surveyed the room as well. Draco shot us a smile from the corner, I smiled at first, but a sinking feeling took over when I remembered he's gunning for my favorite headmaster. Even if he isn't going to go through with it, he has to have a plan. He has to act like he is, and that means other people are going to get hurt. So far, only Katie has been hurt, but Draco said he's already had two attempts.
That means the other is waiting somewhere unknown.
"I have been looking all over for horcruxes, and I haven't found them not once! I'd look in the restricted section, but I'm afraid Madam Pince would have questions." Mione sighed, looking out the window wistfully. I told her that it's alright before tuning into Slughorn.
"Today we will be working on the twelve uses of dragons blood!" He sent a wink over to Harry who smiled brightly in response. Mione's hand went up immediately, not even waiting for the assignment or a question for that matter. Slughorn laughed good-naturedly. "Slow down Ms. Granger, haven't even asked my question yet!" She put her hand down slowly, blushing.
Slughorn explained the assignment and said we could work in pairs. Harry an I chose to work together and Ron was with Mione. We flew through it with help from the Prince, but that meant we were done far quicker than we should have been and had nothing to do. Mione threw a book at me, noticing that I grew restless. She put more force than necessary too, I know she thinks if I had worked with her we could have done a quicker AND better job than Harry and Ron, on our own.
She hates the Prince. She's been to the library numerous times to look him up, she's also suggested he is a she. That doesn't make since. It's Prince, not Princess. When Harry, Ron, an I defended this, she claimed it could be a last name. I rolled my eyes at the thought, waiting for Slughorn to notice we're done.
Harry was flipping through his potions book, fingering his wand. I put my hand on his, gaining his attention. I shook my head no, looking between the book and his wand. He only nodded, but didn't put his wand away. I wouldn't mind, but those spells could be really dangerous. The only reason I used one was because it was a death eater, and nothing else would come to mind.
The bell rang. "Everyone bottle up your work and place it on my desk!" Slughorn clapped his hands happily. "Have a good day!" I looked at Harry.
"Want to go it alone?"
"Yeah. Next time you can try if this doesn't work and if that fails we'll work together." He smiled, packing up his bag. I nodded, ladling the potion into the bottle for Harry to take up there. I handed it to him and kissed his cheek.
"I'll wait for you." He nodded, heading up to the desk. "Good luck." I whispered, turning to leave the room.
*******Harry's POV*******
"Professor, could I, could I ask you something?" I asked, setting the phial Gracie bottled with the others on his desk.
"Harry m'boy! Of course, of course! What is it?" He smiled, he even stopped what he was doing completely.
"I was wondering Sir, what is a horcrux? Gracie and I were reading anything that may come on our exams and we came across the name. It only said they were dark magical objects." I tried to stay calm, but I was sweating nervously. There's no way he's buying that.
Slughorn's face paled, and he looked angry. "Dumbledore put you up to this, didn't he? Didn't he? Well I don't know! So don't ask me again!" He snapped his briefcase shut and walked into his office, slamming the door behind him.
"Shit." I muttered, leaving to meet Gracie. She was outside, looking hopefully. "Your turn next time." She nodded, taking my hand. How one person can be so supportive, I have no clue, but I'm glad. We made our way to transfiguration slowly, seeing as we're already late. "Sorry Professor, we were talking to Professor Slughorn." I said, opening the door. McGonagall nodded crisply and jerked a thumb to the board.
Nonverbal spells. Shocker. Seems like that's all we're doing this year, that's what every class has consisted of, other than potions of course. I turned to the beetle on my desk and pulled out my wand. Gracie did the same, glaring fiercely at the bug. I snickered, watching her screw her face up in concentration.
She's just so cute sometimes. There was a knock at the door, and Ginny came bursting in. Hermione, Gracie, Ron, and I all looked up in a panic, but it was vanquished when we saw the smile in her face. She handed a note to Professor McGonagall and took a seat. We all raised our eyebrows while she winked at us. This is a class with the Slytherins, so she sat in the solitary seat in the middle of the room, and Draco got up to sit with her, a huge smile plastered on his face.
"Class, this Ms. Weasley. We as teachers have decided she's advanced enough to take sixth year courses. You will treat her as you would anyone else. Professor Dumbledore would not have approved if he did not think she should be here." McGonagall glared at the Slytherins, seeing as how everyone if Gryffindor knows Ginny, who she is, and would never try to hurt her. Ginny was smirking, fingering her wand dangerously as her eyes darted between the Slytherins. Gracie shouted 'yes!' very loud, much to everyone else's amusement. She ran over to Ginny, gave her a big hug, and then came back.
"Sorry Professor." She blushed, looking back at her work. McGonagall merely nodded, having everyone return to their work. Ginny looked lost, so Gracie and Hermione went to explain how to do a nonverbal spell. Ron and I snickered at her response.
"Challenge accepted."
Gracie did it, probably trying to show Ginny how easy it is. Ginny watched, then attempted it. It didn't work. I started on my beetle again. Stupid thing won't hold still! "It'd a lot easier if the damn thing would hold still!" Ginny hissed, making everyone near her laugh, even the Slytherins.
"That's why you use Petrificus Totalus first dork!" Gracie rolled her eyes teasingly, shoving Ginny. "You got it?"
"Yeah. I think so. I'll call you guys if I need help."
"Kay. You'll be fine. This is all we've done all year. Basic spells, only nonverbal." Gracie reassured her, gave her one more hug, and came back to her seat. The whole freeze it beforehand thing helped a lot, I was transfiguring beetle after beetle after that. Gracie was doing really well too, moving twice as fast as I was.
By the time class was over and it was time for lunch, I had a whole pocketful of buttons and stuff like it. We finished lunch and headed to the common room. "So, new plan for Slughorn?" I asked, collapsing into the chair. She shook her head, biting her lip.
"I only have one, and I'd never do it. It's a low blow that would only cause trouble. And a lot of pain." Gracie flinched, looking out the window. Now I want to know what it is. I may never get to know, but then again, I could get to know sooner than later. If all else fails, I know she'll go for it.
"Well come on. You're my star catcher!" I winked, pulling her to her feet. "And we have a big game tomorrow!"
Her eyes widened and her jaw dropped. Did she forget the game? "Harry, Nat's gone."
"Yeah, so?" I asked, lost completely.
"So is Katie!" She croaked, her voice hoarse. My brow furrowed. "Merlin Harry! We only have two chasers!"
"What?! No, no! We have to have a reserve, tell me we have a reserve?!"
"Harry, you're the captain! Yo know there is no reserve, Nat was it. And now she's gone! What are we going to do? We can't exactly stick Mione on a broom and put her out there!"
"Can't we? I mean, you and Ginny are good. You could handle it, wouldn't have to pass to her!" I croaked, grasping at straws. She rolled her eyes, shaking her head. "Right. Wouldn't be able to do much if you were trying to keep Hermione from falling off her broom."
"Wait, that girl, the one who tried out in Ginny's year! Demelza Robinson or something like that, she was good, she was going to be our reserve, but then Kelly was born early and Nat got it!"
"She hasn't practice, she doesn't know the drills, and we don't know how she'll work with the team!"
"It's better than nothing, and I hear she's at the pitch everyday. She practices so she can try out next year! We saw her at tryouts, and Ginny and I could take her out and teach her before the match. If she'll do it. What do you think?"
"I think you're brilliant and you just saved us a match!" I smiled, kissing her. I went to pull away, just make it a short kiss, but she brought me back. I smiled into the kiss, placing my hands on her hips. She wound her fingers through my hair, I ran my tongue across her bottom lip, she gave entrance easily. I lifted her up, using the wall for support.
She moaned, a soft and sweet sound. I groaned slightly, wanting her more than ever. Come on Harry, keep your head. You can handle it. You can do it.
She started grinding against me, making it all that much harder. I couldn't help it, I did the same, deepening the kiss even more. I broke the kiss, trailing small kisses down her neck. "Harry, Harry!" Her breathing was heavy, and she pulled me back slightly. "Not here!" She whispered, jerking her head to the side. Confused, I looked over. A few first and second years were watching us, the girls in some what awe and the boys grinning wickedly. I nodded, carrying her towards my dorm.
Once inside, I kicked the door shut and I heard her put a few charms on it, then drop her wand. I crashed my lips back to hers, my hands apparently have a mind of their own. She's so soft. I'm afraid I'll break her sometimes, like I have to be careful at all times. Her hands were playing with the hem of my shirt, here recently I discovered that means she wants it gone. I smiled, doing it willingly. I then pulled back to ask permission to remove hers.
After all, an eye for an eye. A shirt for a shirt.
I never really have to ask, she just knows. She nodded quickly, and I whisked it over her head. I don't think I'll ever get used to how perfect she is, in every way. Our eyes met and she smiled. My world. Her. She's all I care about. Whipped or not. I love her.
She wound her fingers into my hair again, pulling my lips back to hers. She wrapped her legs around my waist, arching her back. I groaned, continuing to grind against her. She started to moan, which of course is a complete turn on. I felt the discomfort in my lower region, and knew its about time to stop this.
I'm always afraid we'll go to far, and then she'll regret it. I know what she wants, and that's not it. I pulled away from the kiss, held her hips so she couldn't move, and just held her close to me. I kissed her forehead and pulled her onto my lap. She started squirming around, which wasn't helping anything.
"Gracie!" I warned, hearing the sound of my own voice. She looked up at me with those big, innocent eyes. Yeah right. She knows what she's doing, and she gets a kick out of it. "Get some sleep Love. We have a match tomorrow." I found my escape, watching her yawn. I need a shower.
"What about you?" She whispered, curling up in the sheets.
"I'm going to take a shower and then find Demelza and see if she'll play." Gracie nodded, halfway asleep already. "Goodnight!" I whispered, kissing her forehead.
Now for that damn shower.
