I'M SORRY GUYS, I WAS ALL EXCITED CUS I THOUGHT THIS WAS GOING TO BE SOME GREAT CHAPTER AND I GET TO SCHOOL, BOOM! ENGLISH PAPER DUE AND ALGEBRA I DON'T UNDERSTAND. I HAD TO CUT IT SHORT TOO! I'LL HAVE A BETTER UPDATE AS SOON AS I CAN!
We landed in a living room, a very nice one at that. A women was in the corner, speaking to a house elf. "Is the tea ready? Tom will be here any minute!"
"Yes Miss!" The house elf squeaked. "I'll go and fetch it Miss!" The house elf scurried off and the women nodded. She walked over to a mirror hanging on the wall and started fixing her hair and make up. The doorbell rang. She squealed excitedly and ran to her chair. "Here Miss! Let me!" The house elf sat the tea tray down and went to open the door. "Ah Mr. Riddle! Misses is waiting for you!"
Riddle nodded curtly and walked up to 'Miss'. He gave her one of the most charming smiles I'd ever seen and kissed her hand. "What happened to him?" I asked, watching in disbelief. "How did he become Lord Voldemort? Sure he was being manipulative, but couldn't he have used that skill for sells or something?"
"He did. For a while." Professor Dumbledore smiled at me, but I had forgotten he was there. I jumped, but nodded slowly. I turned back to the scene in front of me.
"-Borgin and Burkes?" She asked, batting her overly long eyelashes at Tom. She had to have used a spell, those are so obviously fake. Borgin and Burkes? "Such a waste of talent." The woman shook her head and patted Tom's hand.
"Ah but Ms. Smith, I enjoy working at Borgin and Burkes. While there I can exercise, erm, other talents." Tom's lip curled up into a smirk. There was a dangerous look in his eye that made me shiver. Harry wrapped his arm around me and kissed the top of my head.
"Yes well, I'm sure you can. Oh and please Tom, call me Hepzibah!" The witch laughed, taking a sip of her tea. I rolled my eyes at the obvious flirting. Hepzibah's eyes widened. "Now for the reason I called you here!" She smiled. "Now keep in mind I'm not telling!" She warned, faking sternness. "Hokey, go fetch the box!" The poor little house elf hurried off.
She came back a minute later, handing Ms. Smith a highly decorated box. "What's that Hepzibah?" Tom asked, a look in his eye I'd never seen before.
"My most prized possessions!" She winked at him, taking out her wand and tapping the box. It opened and she pulled out a cup. It was beautiful, almost like the ones in the Great Hall, but it was way more decorated. Jewels were all over it, in gorgeous patterns. There was an inscription as well, but I couldn't see it from where I was standing.
Harry left my side to go look at it. He stood over Hepzibah Smith and read, "Helga Hufflepuff!"
"What?" I said, running over to look. He was right. Tom's eyes were absolutely gleaming, quite scary really.
"Is that, is it real?" He gulped, his eyes flashing to Hokey, who was cowering away from his look in the corner. All of his charm had suddenly disappeared, this is a young man I could see becoming Voldemort.
"Yes of course! You can look at it if you like!" She smiled, handing it to him. I sighed, shaking my head. Big mistake. He took it with greedy fingers as she opened the next box. "Just bought this here recently. From Borgin himself!"
Tom's eyes darted up and went deadly cold. I gasped as I looked at the object. "The locket!" I whispered, grabbing Harry's hand. The witch has made the biggest mistake of her life, no one will be able to help her now. This is the beginning. This is where Lord Voldemort became a murder.
No. He's wearing the ring. This was the fifth murder, that I know of any way. "Harry!" I mumbled, turning my face away. I peaked and nearly feinted. His eyes were blood red, like some sort of demon as he took the locket from her grasp. I felt my knees give out and Harry had to hold me up, but his eyes were squeezed shut. Professor Dumbledore came over and relieved us of the sight by taking us out of the pensive.
"Thank you Sir!" I gasped, trying to rid my mind of the incident. That was, so scary. I've never been more scared in my life. Not when we were fighting for the stone, not when I woke up in the chamber, not when I chased after Pettigrew, not even when I found out about the Triwizard Tournament. The only time that would even come close to this was when we were at the ministry last year. When I thought Lestrange was going to kill Dad, and when I thought I'd lost Harry.
That look, it was horrifying.
"Ms. Smith was dead by morning. Her house elf, Hokey, was accused of poisoning her tea. Her possessions were gone and so was Tom, before her family ever even noticed." Dumbledore gave us a grave look as he cut straight to the point. I nodded slowly. "I was going to show you a second memory, but seeing as how you reacted to that one, I don't think that'd be such a good idea."
"Sorry Sir, but I agree!" Harry sighed, wrapping me in his arm. I got out of my chair and sat on his lap, wrapping my arms around him. "What was that?"
"That was a glimpse of what Voldemort would become."
"I, I've seen him. That's not what he normally looks like!" I stuttered, unable to understand why that scared me so much.
"No, but it's what he will look like." I nodded slowly. "Now, the second memory was one of my one. Before I became headmaster, Tom went to Professor Dippet, asking for the Defense Against the Dark Arts position."
"I'm sure he did!" Harry grumbled, glaring at the wall in front of him.
"Yes, he did. Professor Dippet turned him away, said he was too young and to return in a few years. However, he did come back. Once I was made headmaster of course. I too, turned him down, though not for the same reasons."
"Then why, Professor?" I asked, finally coming out of little shell I'd been hiding in.
"I thought he had other motives for wanting to come back than what he said. And I was right. I'd tell you those reasons, but I don't really see a point until you get that memory. You're dismissed."
"Goodnight Sir!" I mumbled, standing up. Harry got up behind me and we walked out of his office. I think he's leaving again. "So..."
"Soooo." Harry smirked, looking down at me.
"What?" I raised my eyebrow, inching away from him. "Harry! What is it?" I laughed, his facial expression was seriously weird.
"I'm going to get you!"
My eyes widened and I took off running. One floor. Another. I slowly lost him, then someone out a hand over my mouth, catching me by surprise. I was pulled into a room with Draco and his goons. Fun fun.
"Gracie don't make this difficult please!" Draco begged, looking really scared. My eyebrows raised in shock, what's he going to do? "I need the map."
"What map?" I mumbled, the gag was still over my mouth.
'Don't lie! Don't act stupid!' A voice hissed in my head. Voldemort.
"The map. You know what map. The one of Hogwarts you've been using since forever!" Draco snapped, glaring at me. He put his wand to my temple, I wanted to tell him to do it. I stayed quite. He used a simple spell, Locomotor Mortis. Nothing I can't handle. Besides, Goyle was holding me up with my arms pinned behind me back.
Wasn't difficult.
He used like six spells, but none of them did any damage. Only one scared me, that would be Reducto, but he missed. The whole thing was fairly boring. I'm just worried about Harry, he's probably freaking out right now. By the seventh spell I was fed up. "I don't have it! Besides, why do you want it?"
"I. Need. It!" He hissed, dropping his wand. If only I could reach mine. He walked over to a cupboard, opening it. He out an apple inside. He closed the door, whispered a few words, and opened it again. The apple had a bite taken out of it. He put a little blue songbird inside, repeated the process, and the bird was dead.
My heart was pounding. What's he going to do? "Is that, is that what I think it is?"
"You mean what all of those foolish people used to escape the Dark Lord back years ago? A vanishing cabinet? Wh yes, yes it is." He smirked, strolling over to me. He's got me scared and he knows it. "You see, this ones broken, but I've been fixing it. It's nearly done. I just need a person to test it on. Care to visit Him?"
"You stay away from me!" I hissed, kicking and thrashing furiously. I grabbed my wand and hit Goyle in the face with the stinging jinx. I took off running through the rows of junk, dodging spells while firing my own. It was like a flashback to the ministry, only not. Because this times, this time I was alone.
Malfoy hit me while Petrificus Totalus and I fell, waiting. This is it. I survived all of that crap only to be killed by my cousin. I closed my eyes, but nothing came. I peaked and they were all watching me. I can't move or I'd hex all three of them. I'm over this already.
No one did anything, and that was getting on my nerves. Be cruel, or in this case merciful. End it. I'm done with this. I'm done with it all. Tell my family and friends I love them. Hug the twins for me. Kiss Harry for me. Tell Dad I never thought he was guilty. Tell Maxie I was proud to call her my mum and thank the Weasley's for raising me.
Draco raised his wand. He lifted the curse and settled for tying me up and gagging me. "You'll stay here until I know what to do with you. Good night. He walked out of the room with Crabbe and Goyle.
Can I just say, at this point in time,
I hate my life!
