"Ready?" I whispered, taking Harry's hand. We had just said our goodbyes to Bill and Fleur and were all outside now. I looked exactly like Bellatrix, the only problem is, I still have my baby belly. Not a good thing, so we had to make the robes a bit bigger to try and hide it. I checked over everyone's disguises. Mione wanted to be Cissy, but that worried me. She is in Diagon Alley a lot and I know she still goes quite often, which worries me a lot. Still though, we have to do this.
"Ready Love." Harry kissed my cheek, squeezing my hand. We apparated out, landing right between Knockturn and Diagon with everyone together. Harry bent down as Griphook scrambled onto his back and I threw the cloak over them. Ron and Mione flanked me as we made our way into daylight. I took a final deep breath and headed straight for the bank. It wasn't two minutes later that someone saying hi to me. I had to not glare at him. I have him a stiff nod as Mione said 'hi' like a school girl and waved.
"Who's your friend?" Rookwood sneared (a/n: it was Rookwood in the book I think, but I can't remember whether I killed him off or not. If I did just put Mulciber or someone in there, sorry guys). I looked him up and down in distaste before turning to Mione.
"Andromeda had another child, she's been keeping secrets. The girl has decided she is loyal to the Dark Lord." I stated with an air of impatience as I stopped to speak to him. "If you'll excuse us, I must check on my vault."
"Good day Bellatrix. Girl." He looked Mione up and down before nodding and walking away. We returned to the shadows where Mione and I got a lecture.
"Damn they changed you!" Ron mumbled, eyes wide as he looked me up and down. I raised an eyebrow and shook my head.
"No they didn't. I'm playing a part and I know how she acts. If we aren't going to do this right we shouldn't be doing it. Mione, we love you and all, but you can't do something like that."
"I know! I'm sorry!" She groaned, putting her face in her hands. "How did you come up with a story like that?"
"First thing that popped into my head. You reminded me of Tonks." I shrugged, straightening her robes. "They are really big on looking respectful. Come on then." I smiled softly, and they all grimaced.
"Bellatrix smiling. Weird." Harry chuckled, causing me to jump. I didn't expect him to be behind me. "It was even weirded when you said you loved her and all." I smirked, winking in his direction.
"I love Harry Potter too. Now come on." I giggled, heading for the bank. We finally got there, and I marched up to the desk. "I would like to visit my vault." The goblin peered at me over the desk, and a sinking feeling hit my stomach. Something is wrong.
"Could you provide your key, Ms. Lestrange?"
"What are you on about goblin?" I snarled, knowing that was a trick. "You know very well that I am a respectable woman. I am a member of the noble house of Black! I don't deal with such foolish things as keys. My vault is heavily guarded and for good reason!" I snapped, glaring at the goblin. He nodded mutely, still searching my face.
"Very well. Sorry Ms. Lestrange but the recent attack on Malfoy Manor is big news. Would you be terribly offended if I asked you to provide your wand?" I bit my lip cautiously, studying him. Would he know that her wand was taken during the attack?
"Aunt Bellatrix?" Mione nudged me, Ron gave me a funny look as well. I frowned, scowling.
"I believe I know who I am." I growled out, handing him the wand.
"He knows." Griphook's voice reached my ears, but Harry imperiused the goblin. He handed me my wand with a fake smile.
"Very well. I shall have him escort you." He motioned to another goblin, who readied a cart. This time I imperiused the goblin, climbing in. The ride made me nauseous, though it never did before.
"He knew because the wand. I knew it!" I groaned, shaking my head.
"You did brilliant Love! You played the part perfectly." Harry soothed, rubbing my back with a small smile. He didn't need the cloak anymore, so I leaned into him, curling against him.
"How did you know she didn't use a key?" Mione raised an eyebrow, she and Ron staring at me apprehensively. They really do think I changed being at that bloody manor.
"Mine doesn't." I shrugged, blushing a bit. I stared at my lap until the sound of water met my ears. "What that?"
"The Thieves Downfall!" Griphook hissed, trying to stop the cart. It was too late. We had gone through the water and were now falling to the ground without our disguises. And the curse had been lifted in the goblin, brilliant, bloody brilliant. I began to panic, thinking of the babies.
"Gracie do something!" Ron yelled, hurdling ahead of me. I fiddled around, finally reaching my wand.
"ARRESTO MOMENTUM!" I shrieked, squeezing my eyes shut. I turned on my back, but was met with pillows. "Nice touch Mione." I sighed in relief, running a hand through my hair. She nodded with a smile, pulling me to my feet. Harry cursed the goblin one more time as we headed further into Gringotts. "We're about to rob the most safest place in the world. We're about to rob the wizarding bank. Gringotts is about to be robbed." I murmured to myself, shaking my head. "We're breaking another record." I giggled, smiling to myself.
"And you're happy about that?" Ron croaked, making me laugh out loud.
"No. Well, yes. And no again. I'm just happy to be back." I shrugged, gasping as we all jerked to a stop. A large, white dragon stood in the room. It was blind, and looked like it had been to hell and back. I bit my lip as I watched it warily, keeping one eye on Griphook at the same time.
"Here, use these. It's been trained to expect pain when it hears the sound." He tossed us a bunch of different types of rattling instruments. Sort of like tambourines.
"That's barbaric!" Mione shouted, refusing to rattle her instrument.
"It's keeping you alive though." I sighed sadly, shaking mine not even half heartedly. We made it to the vault and the goblin opened it. The amount of gold in here was ridiculous. I looked to Harry, waiting. "Do you feel it?"
"It's in here." Harry mumbled, looking around the room. I looked too, trying to tap into whatever Harry felt. That's nearly impossible, but I couldn't help but to wish. I guess I've come to believe that anything is possible. And maybe since I'm carrying Harry's kids, who knows. It was just wishful thinking. I could hear it, but that's just normal. I couldn't feel it and I couldn't begin to tell you where that humming was coming from. He could though. Harry pointed to a cup up on a high shelf, of course. On instinct, I used the accio charm.
It didn't work.
"Harry, maybe the sword?" Mione cocked her head to the side, looking at the cup. Harry nodded, pulling it out and climbing the mountain of gold. It, exploded?, what just happened? I frowned, watching as an avalanche poured towards my feet. I stepped back, turning back to Harry. He was taking more steps and more stuff came towards me. I didn't want to damage anything so I kept stepping back until I was pressed against the door and had no where else to go. It was, hot? Mione and Ron were rubbing at the skin the metal was touching. A beautiful locket with GB carved into it lay on the ground. I went to pick it up but jerked my hand back. The melted flesh about made me sick. My stomach is a lot weaker with the pregnancy.
"What the bloody hell?" Ron yelped, the metal to his shoulders. I flinched, worried about him.
"Harry stop moving!" I called to him, turning to Griphook. "I suggest you start explaining!"
"It keeps thieves away." Was all he gave me. I glared at him and turned to see the cup glowing and rattling. Harry was buried up to his neck in the burning metal, as was Ron and Mione. It was up to my waist, my legs on fire.
"Harry, wait for Ron and Mione to get over here. Come on guys." I motioned them over, they waded through the cups and gold and jewelry, wincing and hissing in pain. Mione had tears in her eyes as I tugged her to me. Magic doesn't even work in here! I nodded at Harry who grabbed the cup. I'm not sure what happened after that, things exploded again.
"Gracie take this!" Harry threw me the sword as he ran across the metal. Griphook and I locked eyes before we both lunged for the sword. He got it before I did, scurrying out of the vault.
"You traitor!" The other goblin and I chorused as he disappeared. "THIEVES! THIEVES! THIEVES!" The goblin yelled as we all scrambled out after Griphook. I have to say, never going in my vault again. I'll have Dad clear it out and then move it into a muggleborn vault. That was absolutely horrifying and painful. Wizards popped up all around us, aurors and deatheaters alike. The goblins weren't much help as they filed in either. Tonks and Kingsley's eyes were wide as they recognized us. Is that? I laughed, waving to my cousins and mum. They froze, no longer firing spells. That didn't stop everyone else.
"Gracie!" Hermione shouted, tugging me along with her. Harry picked me up quickly, carrying me like he had the traitor while I fired spells. We hid behind a large pillar, the dragon below us.
"We'll never get out of here!" Ron groaned, shaking his head wildly. Rita Skeeter was here, snapping pictures while a familiar looking girl scribbled furiously on the notepad in her hand.
"Sure we will!" I called, looking around desperately.
"I've got an idea." Mione and I chorused, looking at each other. "It's crazy." She bit her lip, smiling at me.
"Oh it's absolutely, mentally insane!" I laughed, sliding off of Harry's back. "But it's all we've got." I took Mione's hand and we raised out wands.
"Bombardun!" We chorused, running and jumping onto the dragon's back. "Well are you coming or not?" Mione shouted impatiently.
"You were right!" Ron yelped, looking down at us. He shook his head and closed his eyes.
"Relashio!" I casted, freeing the dragon.
"You're both mental!" Harry laughed, jumping on behind me. Ron followed him and we were off. The dragon flew straight up, going through floor after floor. I squealed loudly, expecting to hit the ceiling, but Mione took care of it. I waved to the people of Diagon Alley with a smirk.
"GRACELYN BLACK DOESN'T DIE AT THE HANDS OF DEATH EATERS AND SNAKES!" I called cockily, but I did hear a few cheers. I laughed, holding my arms out like a child imitating a plane. "WOOHOO!" I laughed, my hair whipping around behind me. Harry laughed, putting his hands on my hips as the dragon continued to fly.
"This is amazing!" Harry whispered in my ear, adding to the peaceful scenery that surrounded us.
"Is it bad that I don't want to land?" I pouted, closing my eyes and leaning back into his arms.
"What?" Mione shouted angrily, hands over her eyes. I forgot that she hates heights.
"Well I mean, it's just so peaceful. And there aren't any death eaters up here." I blushed, dropping my eyes. "I guess that doesn't sound bad."
"Not really. I see your point." I smiled at Harry as he kissed my cheek.
"When do we land?" Ron called up to us, seeing as he was behind Mione in the back. I looked below. Over the water.
"Now!"
"What?" He yelped for the hundredth time, making me roll my eyes.
"Jump!" Harry commanded, jumping off of the dragon. I followed his lead, really hoping that the babies were okay. I grimaced at the thought, I really should get off my feet for a little while. I took a deep breath as I hit the water. Harry grabbed me, dragging me towards the shore. I was freezing, though the burns felt a bit better. Mione and Ron came beside us, spluttering and shivering.
"Tell me you have warm clothes in the blasted bag?" I shivered, my teeth chattering. She nodded, passing them out as I dried everyone off. I turned around backwards to change, not wanting to be stared at. I look different now that I'm pregnant. Not feeling sorry for myself, I love my babies. But I just don't want them staring at my stomach. However, I'm very pleased that I haven't gotten any stretch marks.
I pulled the warm jumper over my head and the skinny jeans over my legs. I frowned, having to adjust the waistband isn't exactly confidence boosting. "I didn't think about comfort, I'm so sorry." Mione gasped, but I waved it off as I laced up my converse. Harry froze, groaning in pain.
"Voldemort." I hissed before I was able to stop myself. The three of us prepared ourselves for snatchers, but none came. I almost sighed in relief until I realized what that means. They are busy somewhere else. "Mione..."
"I know. Just hold on." She whispered, putting a hand in Harry's shoulder. He pulled me to him, hugging me tightly.
"He knows. He knows we're hunting horcruxes and he's scared. There one at Hogwarts. We have to go back." Harry rasped, keeping his arm tight around my waist. "Gracie I want you to go to the safe house and stay with your dad. They might need you to stay with the twins."
"No. Whoever is watching Teddy and Kelly can stay with the twins. I'm going. Now come on." I gave him a look letting him know that I meant it. "I have unfinished business at that damn school, and I intend upon fixing that."
"No! Harry don't give in!" Ron roared, glaring at me. I kept the eye contact with Harry.
"Harry think about the babies, they could get hurt!" That was a low blow Hermione Jean! I never broke eye contact with him.
"She's coming." He finally sighed, running a hand through his hair. I smiled, taking the other hand triumphantly.
"I just want to talk to a certain headmaster. If it really bothers you, I'll lock myself up in the chamber of secrets or the room of requirement. Well I'll try." I amended, shrugging. Mione and Ron grumbled to themselves as we apparated to a place that should not be dark and dreary. Hogsmeade is no longer the safe haven and place of childhood. It's not longer the snowy wonderland that resembles a winter Christmas card. It's a place with an alarm letting death eaters know we are here.
"Where are you Potter? We know you're here somewhere." A voice taunted, looking for us as we ducked under a table. I held my breath as he came closer to use, grateful he didn't find me. I missed the distraction, but I saw Mione motioning us out from under the table. A patronus flew down the street as the death eaters chased it. I tried to get a look at it to see if I recognized it, but I didn't.
I could barely comprehend anything now. The adrenaline was pumping in my veins and fear and determination spread through me. I have a gut feeling about this, one that made me want to cling to my three friends and never let go. "Pst! I should think you would come in by now!" A voice hissed, opening to door wide. All three of them turned to me to make the final decision.
To trust or not to trust the unknown stranger?
