Chapter 24

( Fey's P.O.V )

Soon enough Shane pulled into the drive way, I immediatley turned my head from the living room window looking up the stairs to see no sign of Perris.

" Perris, Shane's here!".

"One second!" she shouted from one of the rooms upstairs, of course she would keep us all waiting.

I sighed deeply as I walked over by the door. My parents went to work earlier this morning and Leah stayed over at a friends. The door bell rang, it was probably Shane from how long we were taking. I opened the door and sure enough I was right, there he stood.

" Hey" he smiled, " you guys ready?".

" Yeah Perris should be down in just a minute" I replied.

I picked up my duffle bag and put it over my shoulder. Probably the dumbest mistake of my life, it was so god damn heavy and immeadiatley I felt the pain shoot through my spine.

Shane must have noticed my discomfort and offered out a hand for the bag.

"Here I'll carry it out for you" he smirked.

My mind told me no but my the pain in my back screamed yes, I handed him my bag and said thank you.

"No problem," he said throwing the bag on his shoulder. I had to admit it was embarrassing how much I struggled with the heavy bag only to look over and see him at ease.

Footsteps pounded down the stairs behind me, finally Perris. I saw Shane's eyes stiffen suddenly with worry and anger. I spun around to see Perris standing behind me with the bruised black eye clearly shown under her right eye. The makeup she wore in effort to cover up her black eye was noticeable but didn't really help. Her bruised skin still showed prominent around her eye.

"Hey" she greeted as she walked over placing a couple last few items in her over sized pink duffle bag.

She picked it up with a struggle and trudged her way over to the door keeping her head down from Shane. It didn't go unnoticed by me because usually she'd be right in his face picking a fight. But I decided not to say anything.

We made our way out onto the porch as I shut the front door and locked it with my key. We headed down the path to the drive way.

"You okay.." I heard Shane mutter from behind me.

"Can you just leave it Shane..." I heard Perris mutter back.

Again I decided just to leave it and pretend I didn't hear a thing but as we made our way down the drive way I noticed something quite peculiar. There was another vehicle parked in my driveway behind Shane's car.

"By the way," Shane spoke out, " I hope you don't mind but I invited a few of my friends" he finished as he popped open the trunk with his car keys and loaded in my bag and took Perris's.        

Truthfully it didn't bother me at all, it was just a surprise that's all.

"Perris you can sit up front with me, if that's all right with you Fey," Shane spoke out to Perris and glanced at me.

"No I don't mind," I smiled.

"Great," he added returning a smile shutting the trunk and making his way around to the drivers side of the car, " We have a long drive ahead of us".

Perris opened the door and got in the front as I opened the back door to be greeted by a beaming blue eyed boy.

" Hey!" The boy chimed in smiling at me, " I'm Trevor".

" Hi I'm Fey" I smiled back.

There was another boy sitting beside Trevor with his head facing out his side of the window and  who had ear buds in.

I got into the back sitting beside Trevor and shut the door buckling my seat belt. I smiled at Trevor again but it soon faded when the boy beside him turned to face me.

His hazel-brown eyes widened when he looked at me and his brain absorbed my features.
