"Hey, man." Sam says as we stand by the window.
"I'm sorry about this. We need a place to lay low." Steve says, and Sam nods pulling us in through the window. He closes the curtains and we all go to get cleaned up. I was the first done and walked into the kitchen. Sam was making breakfast and I walked next to him.
"Do you need help?" I ask, and he smiles and moves aside.
"You must be Steve's secret girlfriend." He says, and I feel my face blush.
"He told you."
"Yeah girl." He smirks and I smile. "You want some music, I'm gonna start music." He says, and walks around me to go to his phone and speaker. "You know Marvin Gaye?"
"I was alive with the Andrew Sisters, and Glenn Miller." I say, and he turns on some music. I take the frying pan off the surface and Sam begins dancing. I laughed along side him. He reached for my hands and sang along with the music player. He crossed his hands and spun me into his arms.
"THERE AIN'T NO MOUNTAIN HIGH ENOUGH!" He sang loudly making me laugh. "Sing it with me girl." He yelled as we danced together in his kitchen. We both sang loudly and I bursted into laughs.
"You got the Marvin in ya!" He yelled happily. I don't think I'd laughed in a while.
I rested my head on Bucky's chest as we swayed to the music in my tent. It was slow and calming. I lifted my head to look into his eyes. I felt his lips press against mine and he smiled. He tackled me onto the bed and I wrapped my arms around his neck.
"I'm going to marry you someday."
"Oh really?" I said back laughing.
"Yeah, we could married right now."
"Right now."
He got off the bed and searched around until he found a wire and bent it a little. "Evelyn," he got down on the ground and held up his wire ring. "Will you smile at me the rest of your life, and promise to wake up next to me every morning. If you can't do these to simple things well then I don't know why I'm here."
"Shut up." I said and rolled my eyes, I kissed his lips and we fell back onto the grass. I smiled against his lips and he raised a pinky with the wire wrapped around it.
"Promise?"
"I do." I said laughing and he kissed me again.
"I made breakfast. If you guys...eat that sort of thing." Sam said snapping me out of that dream and Natasha and Steve walked in.
"So, the question is: who in SHIELD could launch a domestic missile strike?" Natasha said as we all ate our food. I had lost my appetite after thinking of Bucky. I knew I should eat but I couldn't. I just couldn't.
"Pierce." Steve chimes his answer in. I felt him looking at me, but didn't want to look at him. I betrayed Bucky. I had sex with his best friend, we were supposed to get married and have kids. Why was I so stupid.
"But he's not working alone, Zola's algorithm was on the Lemurian Star." Steve says,
"So was Jasper Sitwell."
"So, the real question is: how do the two most wanted people in Washington kidnap a SHIELD officer in broad daylight?" I hear a drop on the table and see Sam had given Steve a file.
"The answer is: you don't." Sam says and sits back down.
"What's this?"
"Call it a resume." He says and continues eating. Natasha picks up a photo of Sam with his para-rescue team
"Is this Bakhmala? The Khalid Khandil mission, that was you." She turns to Steve, "You didn't say he was a para-rescue."
"I heard they couldn't bring in the choppers because of the RPGs. What did you use, a stealth chute?" Natasha asks again.
"No. These." he hands Steve the file, Steve opens it and reads it.
"I thought you said you're a pilot." I ask, and Steve hands over the file to me.
"I never said a pilot."
"I can't ask you to do this, Sam. You got out for a good reason." Steve says, being all nice again.
"Dude, Captain America needs my help. There's no better reason to get back in."
"Where can we get our hands on one of these things?"
"The last one is at Fort Meade, behind three guarded gates and a twelve-inch steel wall." He says, and Natasha shrugs.
"Shouldn't be a problem." I say and I dropped the file on the table.
