For the past three days at the Castle, things were running more like a 'happy family'. Lachesis stayed by Candace's side, teaching her of the vampire world, as well as some more French and French history. Occasionally, if the kings were not busy, they would join in. Caius would tell her about his art and describe what they looked like in full detail, then usually went off into a story about another artist and the redhead would just sit there, with a content smile on her face, and listen. Marcus would sit with her in the library or in the garden and tell her about his life and his brothers, or just listen to her speak about what she liked. Aro would talked to her about different books, he would read her one then they would discuss it.

Ashton was finally settled down, having found his mate, a vampire called Oliver. Ashton was a 6ft tall, somewhat buff, 24 year old man with hazel eyes and ashy blonde hair, that was a bit long that he just swept back, and freckles that lightly littered his tanned skin. Oliver was 6ft 5in, a few sizes bigger than Ashton, not as big as Felix, but pretty big, with dark brown hair that slicked back on top and short on the sides. They got along well, Ashton quickly finding out that vampires are very possessive when it came to their mates. He barely even looked at another guard and Oliver threw him over his shoulder and ran to the far end of the castle. Candace couldn't stop laughing when she heard that.

Even being there, Candace was homesick. She didn't really plan on not going home to her grandmother, and she didn't know how she could get ahold of her, or what she would even say. From what Felix and Demetri had told her, her parents were still in town, with her brother, looking for Val and Connie. She still

felt bad for them, even though Aro, and practically everyone in the castle, told her they were not worth her time or effort anymore. Laci, Lachesis aloud only her to call her by her name, always reminded her that they, meaning the kings and guards, were her family now, not those 'despicable excuses for human beings', as Laci so called them, but not as nicely, but then by the second day, she never mentioned her family.

She was adjusting well, but Aro knew, by reading her thoughts when he touched her, she missed her grandmother, until that second day when there was no trace of her grandmother anywhere. He didn't know why it was happening so he called Ashton into the throne room, Oliver in tow.

"Ah, Mister Townsen, I inquire you are adjusting well?"

Ashton bowed lightly. "Yes, sir. I am."

"I am glad to hear. My boy, would you happen to know how to contact Candace's grandmother?"

Ashton was quiet for a moment before nodding. "I do, Master Aro."

"You were hesitant, boy." Caius stated, rather rudely.

Ashton shuddered. "I-I'm sorry, Master Caius, it's just that..."

Marcus noticed the pain in the boys eyes. "What is it, child?"

The blonde bit his lip nervously. "Mrs. Valentine had arranged this vacation because she knew it was her time, Master Marcus." He sighed. "No one knew how bad she was, but she confided in my and made me promise to bring her to Italy to find..."

"Yes, what is it?" The snow-blonde king was becoming rather impatient.

"To find you three, sir..."

Aro, Marcus, Caius and even Oliver looked at the man with shocked expressions.

"How is that even possible? I have seen through your thoughts and have found nothing on this matter."

"Mrs. Valentine put up a block on that memory, knowing you would see. She was a magnificent woman, a wicken, as she so called herself. A magical being in tune with the dark and light magic. She had many powers, one of them being to see the future." He paused.
