A Long Lost Friend.

Prologue

*Your POV*

I was packing to go away to college. I am going to study to be a teacher and an English major.  The only problem...I was gonna have to move away. As much as it is gonna pain me to do, I am going to have to say goodbye to my best friends actually my only friends. I take a deep breathe and open the car door. My dad gives me a sympathetic look and I walk up to their door. I raise my hand to knock, and the door swings open. "Y\N!!" My friend Esther yells. I laugh as she launches herself onto me. "Hey Esther, wheres your brother?" I ask and she sighs. "He went over to his friends house." She says and I sigh. "Well I guess I can only say this to you then. I am leaving dear Esther. I have to move to Sioux Falls, South Dakota for college. I have to leave tonight though Im sorry for telling you so late." I say with tears starting to form in my eyes. "What?" Esther whispers and I nod tears running down my face. "Im sorry and you have every right to hate me." I say and she shakes her head. "I can't be mad at you for following you dreams and going to a college that can help you get there. My only question is what college are you going to?" "Augustana." I say and she nods. "Thats a good school. Oh no! How am I gonna tell Avi? He won't be back until tomorrow afternoon!" She says and starts to panic. "Esther. Just-just give him this. It will explain everything. I will have dad give you my mailing address when he gets back oh and my new cell number." I say and she nods. my dad honks from the street and I realize that's my cue to leave. I lean forward and wrap my arms around Esther tears falling out of my eyes. "Goodbye sister." I say and she laughs. "We may not be blood but we are sisters, this is not goodbye we will see each other again. Please just promise me that." She shays hugging me back and crying. I squeeze her tighter. "Of Course." I say and the hug breaks. "Till next time Rose." I say teasing her with our childhood nickname for her. "Till next time Dragon." She laughs and teases back. Dad honks again and I start to walk away and turn around and wave before I climb into the car. She waves back and dad starts to drive away.

~Time skip to the next day~

*Avis POV*

I walk home from my friends house with a smile on my face. I walk through the door to find Esther passed out on the couch her cheeks stained with tear streaks. "What the heck?" I whisper to myself and pull out my phone to call Y\N only to remember that hers was stolen and smashed. I sigh and put my phone back in my pocket and gently shake Esther. Her eyes crack open and she lunges at me. "Sorry I just needed a hug." She says and backs off. She hands me a letter with her name and my name on it written in Y\N's hand writing. I look at Esther and she gestures to open it. I open it and pull out the letter. I clear my throat and start to read. "Dear Avi and Esther, If you are reading this it means one of two things. One, I was to chicken to see if you were home so I put this in you mailbox, or two I have talked to someone in the house and given this for either one or both of you to read. OK now I am deeply sorry if it is any of them and I couldn't be there to tell you in person. I am going to Sioux falls south Dakota for college and I had to leave on the day this is dated. I really hate doing this over paper and you have every reason to hate me or never want to talk to me again. I am having dad give Esther, or who ever he speaks to, my new phone number and address. Feel free to write or call when ever if you would like. If I don't answer I am either working or in class. Again I am deeply sorry you guys. Well I will talk to you again hopefully soon. Love, Y\N" I look over and Esther is teary eyed again. "If you were wondering I talked to her yesterday, I just didn't call you because I didn't want you to hear me cry. Im sorry" Esther says and I shake my head. "Its ok Esther. I understand. Im just gonna head upstairs and take a little nap." I say and she nods. I walk upstairs to my room and look around the poster filled room. I pull down my stuffed dragon that Y\N got me one year as a joke. I glare at it and stuff it into a box and throw the box into a corner in my closet. "I am never gonna speak to her again."
