As I walked into my new house that first day, I was annoyed and incredibly angry.
I didn't have any friends within 3,000 miles, and I was in a brand new town.
Summer had just begun and I had no one to enjoy it with.
I sighed as I picked up a box out of our moving truck. When I glanced to my right, a boy was staring at me, and once he snapped out of it, he gave a small wave. He had dark blonde hair and very tan skin, and was significantly taller than me.
Since I was holding a box, I simply nodded my head, and continued walking into my house.
I walked up to my room and set the box down, relief flowing through me as I laid down on my bed. I had finally gotten all of the boxes into my room.
I got out of bed and decided to walk around town.
I walked down stairs and told my mom that I'd be leaving.
I walked out the door, stepping into the hot summer air.
I glanced over at that boys house and he was laying in his yard, tossing a baseball to himself.
I continued walking down the street, and I ended up at a diner.
I walked in, the air conditioning hitting me as I smelt food in the air.
I glanced around, looking for somewhere to sit when I saw a girl sitting by herself.
I wandered over to her and slid in the booth across from where she was drinking a milkshake.
"Hello," I said, as she glanced up at me.
She had light blonde hair and green eyes, and her skin was pretty tan.
"Hey, are you new here?" She asked me.
Is it that obvious? I thought to myself.
"Uh...yeah. Is it that obvious?" I asked her with a small sigh.
"No, not really. This is just a small town and I've never seen you around," she laughed slightly, "where'd you move here from?" She asked me.
"California," I told her.
"California to Utah?" She asked laughing, "I'm guessing you didn't choose that."
I laughed, "No, my mom just got a job here."
"Hm, well alright, what's your name?" She asked me.
"My name is Olivia, but please, call me Ollie," I said, making a face at my real name.
She laughed, "well I'm Kristin, my friends call me Kris."
I gave a small nod.
"Well hey, you wanna come over and spend the night at my house tonight?" She asked me, "then tomorrow you can meet some of my friends."
I smiled, "Yeah, that'd be great. Just let me ask my mom."
We walked to my house and when we arrived she glanced at the house next to mine, "Dude, I guess we're next door neighbors!" She smiled at me.
I grinned back, "That's awesome."
We walked in and my mom was in the living room, unloading boxes and decorating.
"Hey mom, this is Kristin, she goes by Kris. Can I spend the night at her house? It's just next door," I told her.
"Nice to meet you," she smiled at Kris and shook her hand, then turned to me, "that's fine." She told me, turning back to her decorations.
We quickly ran to my room and gathered me some pajamas and clothes for tomorrow, then we walked back down.
"We're gonna leave now, mom," I told her.
"Alright, love you," she said.
"Love you too," I said, as I walked out of the door.
We reached Kris's house and walked to the door.
Maybe this town wouldn't be as bad as I thought, I thought to myself, smiling.

Hey guys! I'm sorry this first chapter was sort of slow, but it's basically just an introduction I guess. It'll get better!
