That next morning, I woke up bright and early, attempting not to wake Alexia who was sleeping beside me.

I stepped onto the floor and reached for my jean shorts, baseball jersey, and cap. I slipped on my converse and grabbed my glove and baseball.

I walked downstairs and my mom was in the living room.

"See you later mom," I muttered, beginning to walk out of the door.

"Why don't you invite Alexia and Lucas to meet your friends," she suggested, a smile on her face.

I groaned internally, but plastered a fake smile on my face as I turned around.

"Darn, I wish, but they're still asleep. Maybe next time," I shrugged.

"Oh don't worry, I'll go get them," she said smiling. I smiled back, but when she turned around, I groaned.

Thirty minutes later, I was about to be late and finally, finally, they came down the stairs.

Lucas wore jeans and a t shirt and had a glove in his hand, while Alexia wore a short skirt and a crop top, makeup on her face.

I resisted the urge to roll my eyes, "you sure you can play baseball in that?" I asked, gesturing to her outfit.

"Ew, there's no way I'm playing that. Um, dirt," she said, flipping her hair behind her back.

I turned around and we walked silently toward the baseball diamond.

When we arrived, I walked in and everyone sat in the dugout.

"Hey guys," I muttered, but they were all staring at Alexia.

I rolled my eyes as she giggled slightly, flirtatiously smiling at all of them.

Um, ew! I thought, but managed to introduce them.

"Guys, this is Alexia and Lucas, my new step siblings," Alexia gave a small wave and winked and I clenched my fists.

"That's, Caden, Kris, Paige, Danny, Karson, Xavier, and Andrew," I gestured to all of them.

Alexia sat beside Andrew and smiled at him.

"Hey, cutie," she said grinning.

"Um...h-hey," he said nervously, blushing slightly.

I instantly felt my blood boil. Was I...jealous? I dismissed that thought, I was probably just angry because the very thought of her made me mad.

"If you two lovebirds don't mind, I'd like to play some baseball while I'm still young," I said angrily, turning on my heels and walking to bat.

I picked up a bat as everyone got in position.

I saw Xavier glance at me worriedly as I glared towards Alexia.

"Just pitch already!" I yelled, clutching the bat so tightly that my knuckles began to turn white.

He pitched the ball and I swung as hard as I could. It went all the way into the stands. I'd made a home run, but I could care less.

All I was thinking was how angry Alexia made me.

Why was Andrew staring at her like that? I thought he liked me.

I angrily walked up to the stands, grabbing the baseball and walking back down.

No one dared talk to me as I walked through, and I glanced towards Andrew.

He smiled at me, but I just glared and turned away, walking back to bat again.

I batted all day, taking the anger out on the ball every time, but no one tried to take my position, they knew how pissed I was.

At the end of the day, I began walking home, Alexia and Lucas behind me.

Lucas ran up beside me.

"Are you okay?" He asked cautiously.

"No, I'm not actually," I huffed.

"He doesn't actually like her you know," he said, looking at me.

"Well the way he stared at her sure told me otherwise," I muttered angrily.

"Why do you care if he likes her?" He asked me.

"Because-" I began angrily.

"Because...?" He said amusedly.

"I don't know," I said defeatedly.

"It's because you like him too," he said, smirking at me.

"Shut up! I do not!" I said defensively.

"C'mon, I'm about to be your brother, and brothers know their sisters, don't they?" He said, laughing slightly.

I sighed, "Okay, maybe, but I don't like him. We're just friends!"

"Right," he said sarcastically as we entered the house.
