As I woke up, I felt two arms around me.
I turned around and saw Andrew, still sleeping.
I smiled widely and contentedly sighed.
And it was then that I realized what I was doing. I don't like him. What am I doing?! I yelled at myself, quickly slipping out of his grip.
He still didn't wake up, and I looked around at the others.
Kris was in Caden's arms and they both slept happily. I grinned at their happiness and couldn't help but thinking how great of a couple they were.
I began walking towards the kitchen when I saw Paige and Danny in each other's arms.
A pang of jealousy shot through me and I sighed slightly, my eyes beginning to sting with tears I couldn't shed.
I walked into the front yard and sat on Kris's porch, watching the sunrise.
"Hey, Ollie," I heard a tired voice say from the doorway.
I turned around, surprised to see Danny walking towards me.
I couldn't help but think how adorable his messy hair and sleepy eyes were as he sat beside me.
"Hey," I muttered, looking towards the sky to hide my red cheeks.
We were silent for a long time as we watched the sky, then I heard him say something that made my eyes sting again.
"So I need advice about Paige," he muttered.
"O-oh," was all I could manage to say without bursting into tears.
Luckily, he was oblivious to my sadness.
"So her birthdays coming up, and I just don't know what to get her. What do girls even want to get as a gift?" He asked, frustrated at himself.
I hesitated for a second, wondering what I would want if it were me.
"Get her a necklace or something," I shrugged, surprised at how normal I sounded.
I imagined Danny giving me something like that and smiled goofily.
"What are you smiling for?" He asked with a laugh, "thinking about Andrew or something?"
Instantly, I turned towards him confused.
"Andrew?" I asked incredulously.
"Yeah, don't you guys like each other?" He asked.
If only he knew how off he was.
"No," I laughed, "not in that way."
He gave a small nod and turned away with a sigh.
"What's wrong?" I asked him as he frowned at the sky.
"I just wish that you liked him. You know, he's pretty crazy about you," he told me.
"So I've heard," I said sighing.
Here I was, finally getting to talk to the boy I was infatuated with, and he was telling me that he wished I liked one of his best friends. The irony of the situation was killing me.
"Don't you like him at all? Even if just a little bit?" He asked me.
I felt my cheeks heat up.
"Maybe a little. Heck, I don't even know what I feel anymore. This whole thing sucks. I guess he is really sweet and stuff, but I'm not sure I feel that way about him," I said frustratedly, "I just don't even know anymore," I sighed softly.
"Well, he cares about you a whole awful lot. Even if you don't feel the same way, just remember that," he said, walking back inside.
As the door closed, everything became silent, somehow mocking me.
Almost making fun of me for not understanding my feelings. The boy I've liked for so long was telling me to give Andrew a chance.
But I don't like Andrew! Or did I? I don't know.
I stood up, frustrated, and walked inside.
Everyone was waking up now, and Andrew leaned up, glancing over at me and sleepily smiling.
I smiled back at him. Then I looked over at Danny. I smiled at him, and he grinned back.
What could I have possibly gotten myself into now?
