I never slept well after Steve kissed me, maybe because the fact that its been 2 days and I still haven't told Ponyboy... ugh I don't deserve to be his girlfriend.

Last night I had a terrible nightmare like the Night Before Christmas, but I had to tell the truth.

"Hey (Y/N) how is my princess?" I was packing up my things in my locker when Pone came and wrapped his arms around my waist, kissing my cheek softly. "We need to talk Ponyboy." I pulled his hand to the closet bench I could find surprisingly it wasn't that close.

"What is it?"

"The night of the rumble," I was cut off by Pony,"I said I was sorry, it was a really long day and I put all my anger out on Steve!"

"No, but its about Steve and when I followed him outside," Ponyboy's eyes were filled with confusing and worry,"H-he kissed me and told he was in love with me." Scared for what was to come I left my head down, I couldn't look him in the eye.

He let out a quick and shaky sigh. I could tell he was going to cry,"D-Did you um," I looked up to see a red nose I carefully held his hand hoping he'd hold back,"kiss him back?"

"No, of course not I pulled away, I told him that I only love you Ponyboy." His thumb traced circles on my hand. "I will- call you later."

3 Days Later...

Not a single call, not one. He didn't even talk to me in school, it was like he did everything to avoid me and I had enough of it.

"Ponyboy!" I caught up with his after track practice. "Pony!" I pulled his wrist. "(Y/N) what do you want!" Its like my stomach dropped to my shoe,"What's wrong with you? Why have you been avoiding me!"

He snatched his wrist away,"Are you serious? You're really asking me that?"

"Yes I am."

"You kissed Steve god dammit!" I wanted to smack him right then and there even though it wasn't a little bit relevant. "Are you deaf? I told you he kissed me!"

"I don't care (Y/N)! You guys kissed that's the whole point!" He took some deep breaths, then brushed his fingers through his blonde hair,"I'm sorry but- b-but I can't- I cant do this anymore."

I felt the tars welling up in the corner of my eye but I refused to let them go, not right now,"Fine."

"Goodbye (Y/N), have a nice life... or whatever."

I went to favorite bench where you could see the sun meet the horizon. I found a boy sitting there, he looked familiar.

"Steve?" He turned around showing a half smile. "What's up, thought I'd find you here."

I sat beside him looking at the vivid colors in the sky changed from one shade to another. "Wow, now I understand why you like this so much." I sniffled wishing Steve wouldn't hear me but he did. "(Y/N) what's wrong, what happened?"

"Pony and I broke it off." I was thinking about how we always used to sit on this bench and watch the sunset together hand in hand. "I told him what happened the other night and I guess he couldn't take it."

Steve fell silent I could tell he didn't know what to do in this type of situation but he did have an instinct that he should hug me. I hugged him tighter, he pulled me impossibly close.
When he let me go I rested my head on his chest, no I did not love him but there was just something about Steve that got to me.
