Ponyboy & Johnny: The Park

Since Two-Bit was drunk, Dally was in the cooler, Soda and Steve were with their girlfriends, and Darry was obviously out working, it was just Johnnycake, Pony, and I.

"What do y'all wanna do," The three of us sat on the couch with boredom taking over us. "Maybe we could go watch a movie," Ponyboy suggested. I came out of the kitchen with 3 forks and some chocolate cake but what the hell was I thinking? We never ate with forks! "We watched a movie yesterday." I reminded him, "Yeah think of something else man." Johnny said with his cake stuffed mouth.

"We should go to the park, you know like the good old days man." I smiled remembering when the 3 of us were younger and played on the playground all the time. "Yeah," placing the cake on the table,"What'd you think Pone?" He let out a sigh but started to race out of the door. Johnny and I ran behind, Pony did a flip off the porch, I did the same.

When we got to the playground I was already on the monkey bars, surprisingly my feet still didn't touch the ground, they never have.

"Ha! Look Pony (Y/N) hasn't grown an inch!" They both started to laugh,"Hey I did grow!" I kicked some dirt in their direction, almost slipping making them laugh even more. "Shut up Johnny! You could never make it past the third bar, and you can't now!"

His laughing stopped, he walked over to the monkey bars, lifted his hands and just walked through,"That's not fair you had a growth spurt!" Ponyboy was trying hard to breathe, he was laughing so hard he almost he passed out. I flicked my best friend on the forehead while the other was teasing me.

Later that night we strolled down the neighborhood, "I love you guys." Pony said putting his arms around each of us. "I love you too man." Johnny said patting his shoulder. They both looked at me waiting for my answer. "Eh, you guys are cool." They looked at one another then back at me before I knew it my two guy best friends kissed each of my cheeks,"I love you guys too."

We all went our separate ways back to home... just like the good old days.
