Hey guys! I'm sorry that I haven't updated in a while, it's just a lot of school work that consumes A LOT of my time. I don't have enough time to update any of my books but I hope you all understand. Thank you! (:

Skylar's POV.

It was almost noon and Betty hasn't left my house yet. Her and my dad have been talking nonstop and I haven't gotten the chance to ask him to go to the movies tonight. I tried my best to cut in and at least excuse myself to talk, but I didn't get the chance to no avail. My thoughts are jumbled up in my head and I nearly jump at the vibration coming from my phone on the kitchen counter. I pick it up and unlock it to see who had texted me- Angel.

*Are you still coming to the movies tonight, babe? ;)* The message reads and I respond to him quickly.

*No, not yet. We have a guest with us and I haven't got the chance to ask him yet. Still waiting :/* I sent the message and wait for his response. My phone vibrates after a few seconds.

*Okay, just let me know when you can. Keep asking him or cutting in.* He informs me.

*Okay, I love you.*

*I love you more, baby.* He sends. Those words still make my heart thump out of my chest every time he says it. I can never get over them.

I set my phone down and continue to drink my coffee to keep me up for the evening. Maybe I should do my homework until Betty leaves? I don't know. I will think of something.

"Sky," my dad finally calls out to me from across the room and I jump from the sound of his voice calling my name. I didn't even know I drifted off to sleep across the counter. So much for drinking coffee to keep me up a bit.

"Yeah?" I questioned.

"Is there something that you need?" He asks me. I look up at him from my squinted eyes of the bright light coming through our windows.

"I was waiting for you and Betty so I can ask you something," I tell him, adjusting myself and standing up from my crouching position.

"It's okay, she is taking a nap. I didn't think you'd still be in the kitchen," he laughs in confusion.

"Seriously?" I snickered. "I was going to ask, can I go to the movies tonight?"

"With who?" His brows pull together.

"Angel," I take my gaze away from his and look down at my fingers, fidgeting with one another.

"Yeah sure, that is fine. What time?"

"Around six or seven, I think." I inform him and he nods.

"Okay, just make sure he brings you back home early tonight. I'll give you twenty bucks for your ticket and food." He tells me and I nod in agreement.

"Okay. Thank you, dad." I smile and make my way up the stairs after putting my coffee cup into the sink. He doesn't say anything as he brings his gaze down to Betty's face against the pillow, sleep covering over her features across from the other side of the couch. I catch my dad's smile forming onto his face as he glances at her for a few seconds before he catches me watching him. A slight shade of pink starts to form onto his cheeks; he was blushing and I can't help my heart beat rapidly for him. I'm glad that he had found someone special for him after my mother's passing.

As long as he's happy, I'm happy. I tell myself this every other day.

I walk myself up the steps and text Angel, letting him know that my dad had agreed to let me go out with him tonight. Angel doesn't say anything but puts emojis. Blush faces, heart eyes and hearts were being shown right in front of me and I couldn't help my laugh from leaving my throat.
