ACT 2
"Time for detention." Sarah muttered, slinging one of the straps of her backpack over one of her shoulders. "Thanks to you." She thanked sarcastically.
"Isn't it supposed to be lunch time?" Katarina questioned.
"It's the first day of school," Sarah explained. "We're suppose to go home early since our schedule is supposed to be half-day."
"But?" Katarina pried, already knowing the answer of her question.
"But because of you, we'll be spending the whole afternoon in detention."
The pair exited the classroom and made their way down the hall. Katarina, being the 'tough girl' she is, didn't bother dodging the other students. Instead, she shouldered them without any care at all.
"Hey!" A blonde girl with blue eyes dropped her books onto the floor, causing her to shoot a glare at Katarina before crouching down to pick up the dropped items. Sarah instantly recognized the blonde and it took every self-control in her to not crouch down and help her.
"Oh, sorry," Katarina apologized sarcastically, noticing the gleam in Sarah's eyes. "Well, not really."
"Do not be so arrogant, Du Couteau." A smooth and velvety voice came from the door of the nearby classroom, which is Class 3-A. Katarina turned to the door and was utterly speechless when she saw the origin of the voice.
Since her intimidating look is always plastered on her face, she managed to keep her expression from changing into an awestrucked one.
Ashe Avarosa walked out of the classroom of Class 3-A and approached the blonde, crouching on the floor to assist the blonde in collecting her fallen belongings. A flash of relief crossed Sarah's face before she masked it and made it disappear in a blink. After doing so, Ashe and the blue-eyed student stood up simultaneously.
"I would appreciate it if you are more aware of your surroundings, Miss Du Couteau." The blonde said after she thanked Ashe for her help.
Katarina opened her mouth to say a retort, but a hand on her shoulder stopped her. She looked halfway over her shoulder and found out that the hand belonged to Sarah.
"Don't, Katarina." Sarah warned. "These two are from families that are higher-ups in and out of this school. I can assure you that you don't want to mess with them."
Katarina slowly nodded before turning to the blonde and Ashe, abruptly asking a question. "Who are you?"
The blonde huffed, looking slightly and mildly irritated for the reason that Katarina doesn't even know her while Sarah rolled her eyes at Katarina's rude questioning.
"I am Luxanna Crownguard," Lux introduced, her tone proud and upbeat. Too upbeat for Katarina's taste. "Daughter of Marcus and Lilia Crownguard and sister of Garen Crownguard."
"That's a mouthful." Katarina stated flatly, looking uninterested, while Sarah sighed.
"Hmph! How rude." Lux stated back, pouting like a child.
"Childish, aren't we?" She mocked, smirking, while Sarah gave herself a face palm from behind the redhead.
"Katarina, let's go." Sarah whispered, grabbing her by the elbow, only for it to be yanked away from her grasp.
"I suggest you listen to your friend." Ashe warned with an apathetic expression, unfazed when Katarina looked at her with a challenging gleam in her green eyes.
"What will you do if I...-!" Katarina stepped forward but stopped in mid sentence when Ashe's scent hit her like a truck. It was too... divine and enticing to be considered a nuisance to her sense of smell. She identified it as the scent of peppermint, actually.
