ACT 16

"Katarina!" Ashe called out. She saw Katarina's face and she saw the heartbreak in her emerald eyes. She ran out of her apartment, pushing Sejuani's boyfriend out of the way.

"Katarina!" She called again, running down the hall in nothing but a mere towel.

Ashe found Katarina waiting in front of the elevator, her eyes buried in her right hand while her left hand was on the wall, serving as a stand to keep herself still. She instantly approached her.

"Katarina, what you saw there wasn't what you think."

"Leave me alone, Ashe." Katarina muttered, not bothering on facing her as she spoke.

"Please, Katarina, let me explain."

"Go away."

"Stop acting like a child, please? Just let me explain." Ashe pleaded, frowning deeply.

Katarina abruptly spun around and faced her, anger, hurt, rage and sadness mixed and swirled in her green eyes

"Fine, Ashe! If you think you can do something impossible, then go ahead. Explain the unexplainable." The tone of mockery lacing her voice.

Ashe sighed. "That guy was Sejuani's boyfriend, not mine."

"Then why were you taking a shower with him?" Katarina questioned her back, crossing her arms across her chest.

"I wasn't!"

"Yeah, right."

"Katarina!" Ashe shouted in frustration. She took a deep breath and calmed herself down. Fighting Katarina's hurt and anger with her own won't solve anything.

She was somewhat offended that Katarina would actually think and make the assumption of her displaying disloyalty.

"Just say the word, Ashe, and I'll walk out of your life."

Ashe sighed exasperatedly, rubbing both of her hands on her face. "Can you at least come back with me at the apartment? I'm only wearing a towel right now."

"Just say the word, Ashe." Katarina gritted out.

Another exasperated sigh left her lips. She shot her hands forward and grasped the sides of Katarina's face before she pulled Katarina towards her, kissing her with all the love she felt for her.

The kiss lasted for a few seconds before Ashe pulled away and broke it.

"I love you and only you," She whispered, stroking the the lower part of Katarina's scar with one of her thumbs. "I would never be unfaithful to you."

Ashe watched Katarina purse her lips in a tight line before she slowly nodded. Ashe sighed in relief and gave Katarina another kiss before she held one of her hands and pulled her back to the apartment.

When they returned to the apartment, the door was unlocked, so they got in without difficulty. Thankfully for Ashe, no neighbor of theirs saw her in a wee towel.

Ashe led Katarina to her bedroom and had her settle on the foot of her bed. When Katarina was finally sitting down, she took the spot beside her, not letting Katarina's hand go.

"Let me start my explanation by telling you that this apartment unit we're in has two bathrooms."

               As soon as Ashe told her that the apartment has two bathrooms, she heard her subconscious yell at her in her head, but Katarina pushed it at the back of her mind.
