ACT 10

Distracted. Katarina was completely out of her self, that's for sure. Classes and lectures passed and she didn't absorb a single pinch of knowledge. She still found herself mulling over the info Ashe had given her earlier about Tryndamere.

Lunch came and truthfully, Katarina wasn't hungry. She literally ditched Sarah as soon as the lunch bell rang and dashed off to the rooftop of the school. She needed privacy to contemplate the array of emotions swirling inside of her.

When she got to the rooftop, she settled herself on the only bench there and buried her face in her hands. Releasing a loud stressed-out sigh, Katarina removed her face from her hands and perched her chin on a hand while she ran her other hand through her hair.

'Why do I even care? So what if Tryndamere is Ashe's ex-fiancée? Why should I give a damn about it?' Katarina thought, growling under her breath.

"Ashe Avarosa," She whispered, now looking down to her hands. "What are you doing to me?"

Katarina clenched her fists then unclenched them. She repeated this process while she pondered deeply about the weird feelings she currently felt.

When she and Ashe had met, she was somewhat awestruck with her appearance and took a quick liking with her scent, which is the fresh smell of peppermint. Katarina knew she could listen to Ashe's velvet-like voice whenever, and just her mere presence comforted her and made her feel at ease. She was already feeling queasy as she recalled everything.

Katarina hasn't even added Ashe's attitude into the equation yet. If she were to include it now, she knew there is no way in staying away from Ashe.

She started summarizing her 'findings'. She loves Ashe's appearance, loves her scent, loves her voice, loves her presence and she found herself extremely interested and curious with Ashe's true attitude, her likes, her dislikes and her past.

Whenever she looks into Ashe's sightly cerulean eyes, her heart would go wild and out of its normal beating pace. It felt like Ashe's eyes had a 'wild switch' designed only for her, but she highly doubted it.

'Who could resist such beautiful and aesthetic eyes Ashe possess? No one, probably.'

She had also remembered what Sarah had told her. When she heard it for the first time, she didn't really pay much time and attention to it. But now, it made sense.

'You are falling, Katarina. And falling hard.'

There was no use in denying the fact that she now understood what Sarah had meant. Her friend's words were filled with the unspoken truth.

Could this be what people refer to as 'love at first sight'?

What could she gain if she were to resist her heart now?

Katarina's conclusion?

She has fallen.

Katarina Du Couteau has fallen in love with Ashe Avarosa.

Classes were dismissed and Katarina rushed out of the classroom after waving goodbye to her friend. When she exited their classroom, she discreetly peeked through the doorway of the classroom next to theirs to check if Ashe was there.

Instead of Ashe, Lux was the one who walked out of the said classroom and greeted Katarina with a wave and a smile. The blonde was unintentionally one step ahead of her though. She was just about to ask Ashe's whereabouts when Lux provided her the answer, not even letting her utter a syllable.
