Mika
Today is the day.
Today is the day that I have been dreading—dreaming about—more like having nightmares about, over the last week.
Today I will be going back to the Philippines with Kiefer. We will be spending the next four weeks keeping up the game that we are still together and happily married.
Today is the beginning of what would probably be the worst and longest four weeks of my 25 years of existence.
After grabbing both of my luggage I then made sure the alarm system is turned on in my apartment. I locked all the doors and windows, grabbed my handbag, and head out after locking the door behind me.
Goodbye, sanity. I thought to myself as I boarded the elevator to make my way down to the first floor.
The apartment I am living in has a nice little lobby down in the front with a table that always has a beautiful flower arrangement in the center of the room as well as may ilang upuan din where the visitors can sit on while they're waiting for someone.
My breath caught in my throat when I saw that one of the chairs is being occupied by Kiefer.
He is sitting there waiting for me, wearing a pair of jeans and a simple gray shirt. Biruin mo nga naman si tadhana, pareho pa kami ng color ng suot.
His hair is in its usual disarray and just begging for someone to run their fingers through it. Actually pinipigilan ko lang yung sarili ko not to reach out and touch it.
I was so caught up in my thoughts that I actually let go one of the handles of my luggage in an attempt to reach out for his hair. Wow, Mika. Way to go.
Even though he was halfway across the room, my luggage fell to the floor with a loud bang, so malamang narinig nya yon.
Kiefer quickly turned his head in my direction when he heard the noise and instantly stood up to come and help me.
"Th-thank you." I stuttered, going to grab the handle again. Instead kinuha nya yon plus yung isa ko pang luggage and nodded for me to go in front of him.
He followed me out to the cab he had gotten for us, rolling both suitcases behind him, and he helped the driver place them in the trunk.
We decided kasi na mag-cab na lang kami papuntang airport since walang maiiwan para asikasuhin yung mga sasakyan namin pag iniwan namin.
But still, seeing Kiefer sitting down in the lobby waiting for me is a sight I never thought I'd still see after what happened between us.
Naalala ko nung college kami, all of our dates always ended the same way. We would make out in his car for 30 minutes down the street from our dorm before he drove me up and kissed me some more then I'd go out.
I found myself smiling and blushing at the memory, not catching myself until Kiefer's voice snapped me back to the present.
"We're here, Miks." He said softly. I blinked a couple times and turned to see he is standing outside of the cab holding the door open for me while the driver is getting out our luggage.
I still feel like I am in a daze as I look back at Kiefer and saw him smirk. "What were you thinking about?" He asked teasingly.
I put my best glare for him and sighed as I exited the cab. "None of your business."
