I watched as Manong left the kitchen and headed upstairs after Jessey came out and explained the "misunderstanding" that happened.

Seriously? How would you misunderstand somebody being pregnant? Minsan din talaga tong si Jessey eh.

I let out a deep sigh as I thought about everything that had been going on lately.

Mika and Manong are both acting strange. I mean, ayoko naman mag-assume or mag-jump into conclusions. But there is something going on there and everyone else seems to be blind to it.

Obviously may nase-sense din na iba si Jessey, pero after what happened tonight, she's probably going to be easy with the lovebirds from New York. Oh well not me. No. Freaking. Way.

I excused myself from the kitchen just as everyone starts cleaning up their places.

I heard tinawag ako ni Thirdy before I heard his footsteps trailed behind me on the stairs paakyat.

"Babe, san ka pupunta?" He asked as he jogged to keep up with me.

I didn't say anything to him as I continued to glare in the direction of Manong and Mika's bedroom.

Tumigil ako sa may harap ng pinto nila and finally I turned around to face him.

"Something's going on with Manong and Miks." I whispered to a very confused Thirdy. "Kailangan kong malaman why are they acting so freaking weird lately."

"Ha? What are you talking about?" Thirdy whispered back.

I hold back a smile because he is following my lead in our keeping-our-voices-low and he doesn't even know that I was doing it para hindi malaman ni Manong and Mika that we are gonna eavesdrop.

"Listen, meron lang kasi akong—"

"Kiefer?" Mika's voice suddenly called out from the other side of the door.

Napatigil ako sa pagsasalita, nakanganga, as Thirdy's eyes darted to the closed bedroom door.

We heard something like "Mhm?" on Manong's end as Mika continued talking.

"Bakit parang... nagalit ka sakin kanina? When Jessey announced na I was pregnant?" Mika asked in an unsure voice.

Thirdy and I pressed our ears up against the door at the same time in order to hear Manong's quiet response. "Kasi I thought you're really pregnant... with someone else." He said softly.

Ano daw?!

Napakunot yung noo ko sa narinig ko. I am so confused and I looked at Thirdy, and we have the same reaction.

"No, that's impossible. I... I haven't been with anyone else." Mika replied in a soft voice. Pinilit ko na marinig kung anong sasabihin ni Manong, but hindi ko narinig. Masyadong mahina yung boses.

"Ano daw sabi?" I whispered to Thirdy.

He looked at me and furrowed his eyebrows in concentration. "Haluin?"

"Anong haluin?" I said before rolling my eeys and realizing what Manong actually said. "Ako din." I whispered to Thirdy, emphasizing the words to show him what an idiot he is sometimes.
