Warning: You know what's up. 😏
Mika
"Jessey, that one is the one. It's perfect."
She turned around and looked at me unbelievingly. "Perfect? Hindi ba masyadong... poofy?" She asked, lifting the long skirt of the dress and flinging it around as if to prove her point.
When she said it like that, it did look like a bit poofy.
You see, Billie and I had been doing our wedding duties for the whole day with Jessey, i.e. fitting for our bridesmaid dresses and helping Jessey to choose which gown will she wear for her wedding.
Yeah... we're really not a big fan of "Mamalasin ka kapapg sinukat mo yung wedding gown mo bago yung araw ng kasal mo."
Ms. Elizabeth Hallie herself prepared her whole latest bridal collection for Jessey to choose with. Yup, you read that right, it's the Elizabeth Hallie. She's an acquaintance of Tita Yeye, Jessey's mom.
"Seriously, Jessey Laine, pang-limang gown na yan na tinry mo." Billie chimed in. "And the other four were absolutely beautiful."
Jessey nodded and let out a deep breath. "I know, pero the wedding kasi is like a week and a half away na lang and I'm just so... ugh! I don't know." She shook her head and took a deep, calming breaths. "Okay, so this one is a no." She said to herself, going into the large dressing room to try on the sixth dress.
I smiled and sighed, sitting down on one of the big comfy couches with a glass of champagne that one of the staff here handed us.
"I hope sixth time's the charm." I teased, looking up at Billie. Hindi sya natuwa sa sinabi ko.
Well actually, Billie and Thirdy had not been on good terms with Kiefer and I since nung isang araw pa.
We are not giving them any information and as far as they are concern, Kiefer and I are still getting a divorce.
Nagui-guilty ako. As in. But then maalala ko lahat ng kagaguhan na ginawa nila samin ni Kiefer and plus, I love how wonderful it is being with Kief without having to answer any of their meddling questions. So those made the guilt to reside... just a little bit.
"Lalabas tayo tonight." She said simple, leaving no room for arguments as she sat down on the couch next to me, thanking the staff who handed her a champagne glass.
"Akala ko ba pupunta sila Jessey and Kim sa bahay ng parents ni Jessey tonight for dinner?" I asked, confused.
"Oh, they are." She nodded, finishing a sip of her champagne and looking over at me. "By tayo, I meant you, me, Thirdy, and Kiefer."
Oh shit.
Ohh shit.
"B-bakit?" I asked, practically choking on the champagne I had barely just swallowed.
She just shrugged, swirling her drink around in her glass. "Wala lang. Just thought a nice dinner would be... nice." She said, almost ominously, turning to look at me with an evil glint in her eyes.
I raised my eyebrow in return. "Really, Bills? More games?" I said, annoyed.
"What Mika? Anong ibig sabihin non?" She asked, feigning innocence and batting her eyelashes at me.
"Enough with your what mika? anong ibig sabin non?" I said, making sure I imitated her voice. "What's going on? Huh?" I snapped.
