After the 2 hours that we spent at the nail salon, we went to the food court. I went to the Asian Buffet, while Lucy went to the Dairy Queen. I bought Orange Chicken with White Rice and a small plate of pot-stickers, while Lucy came back with a double cheeseburger with fries, and chicken with a smoothie. We both laughed and talked the whole time we were eating.

"So, who are you taking to the dance?" I asked Lucy. She smiled.

"My boyfriend." She said. She smiled at the very thought. I smiled too. She deserves to have a happy life after all the heart ache thats happened to her.

" Who's your boyfriend?" I asked, curious to see who her prince charming is. She blushed.

"Technically, we've only been going out on a date a few times, but his name is Andy Seager......." She blushed. I dropped my jaw.
Andy Seager was only the best male singer in the whole school! He's the only Junior that has gotten into the Senior singing group!

"Lucy! Are you a secret singer?" I asked. She laughed.

"No, i mean, i do, but i am nothing special." she mumbled to herself. A buzzer went off in her purse. She pulled out the timer that the nice lady at the Boutique gave us.

"Oh! your dress is done!" She exclaimed. We put our meals into take-out boxes and sped walked off to the Boutique.

At the boutique, the same lady was there smiling. She handed me the dress, shoes, and the mask. I walked into the dressing room to try it all on. I heard foot steps in the dressing room next to me. I slide the mask onto my face and walked outside. I stood on the platform again. The curtain to the other dressing room opened and out came Lucy in her beautiful dress and mask. Her dress had blue and black, poofy layers. She looked great! We did a few girly squeels. I purchased the dress and shoes, but the lady there just gave me the mask.

"You keep it darling, no charge." I smiled and gave her a hug. We went out to the parking lot and got into Lucy's car. I invited her to spend the night with me, that way (since we have no school tomorrow, because of the dance) we can just drive up to the castle early to help the preparations.

"I would love too! Would your Aunt and Uncle be okay with it?" was her only concern.

"Of course they wouldn't! What about your sister?" I asked.

"She's out with a friend tonight..." she replied. She looked very doubtful of her answer.

As we pulled up to my house, there was a package on the porch. We got out and i walked up and picked it up.

To: Poppy Smith
From: Mathew Smith

I was overjoyed! My dad had sent me something! I pulled Lucy into the house with me and ran upstairs to my room. I sat on my bed, and nearly ripped of the package. Inside was a letter and a small plastic bag. I unfolded the piece of paper.

Dear Poppy,

I am writing to you from London, i am sitting in a small cafe. Meagn e-mailed me and said that
she was so excited that your school dance is coming up. I am sorry that i can't be here to give this
to you in person but i am sure that your mother would've wanted you to have this for your dance.
Love you always,
Father.

I smiled and opened the plastic bag and gasped. It was mother's old locket, but polished and sparkling. I opened it and there was the last family photo that we had taken. There was me, at the age of 10 with my blonde curls, and my father in his nice clothes, and there was my mother. Her eyes were shining with love for her family. I can't believe that Father is letting me have it. When mom died and i was able to take some of her things, Father refused to let me have it. I smiled and put it on.

"Hey, can i go to the school newspaper on your computer?" Lucy asked. I nodded my head.
