I opened the door to the drama room, only to smack into someone coming out.
"OUCH!" I exclaimed as i fell on my butt, and watched all my papers in my binder fly across the hall.
"OH MY GOSH! I'M SO SORRY!" said a husky voice. I couldn't find my glasses so i felt someone move. They handed me my glasses and helped me up. I put my glasses on and looked at who helped me. It was Jullian Loveland. Captain of the basketball team. Jock of the school.
"i'm so sorry that i bumped into you! I guess that i wasn't watching where i was going and i hit into you!...." I babbled on and on and he just looked at me. I picked up all my papers and looked back at him. He just looked at me and smiled. I looked into his nice eyes and brown hair.
"You must be Poppy." He said. I blushed furiously. I pushed my glasses up and nodded.
"Mrs. Loureiro just asked me to come and get you." he continued. I nodded and walked past him and into the classroom. The room was full of other kids. I quickly took my seat.
"Glad you could make it, Poppy." Mrs. Loureiro smiled. I looked around the room and saw people that i didn't know. I only knew two people. Mia Thermopolis and Jullian Loveland. They are obviously a couple. I know Mia, only because she is a jerk, drama queen. She is very protective of her boyfriend. She and Jullian were in the back of the room. Mia is your typical mean girl. Long blonde hair, shocking light eyes, curvy body, the pretty face. Any boy would be happy to have her as a girlfriend.
"As all of you know, we are going to be starting Shakespeare today. We will have auditions and casting today!" Loureiro squeeled. I felt faint.
"Who wants to go first?" she exclaimed. Mia and Jullian went first. They did a scene from Romeo and Juliet. The balcony scene. They did the whole scene from memory and the kiss in the end was quiet passionate.....and gross. Loureiro told me that she had the perfect part in mind for me and that i didn't have to audition. That made me relieved and yet scared. The whole class went and it went by quicker than expected. After the last audition Loureiro told everyone to take 5 while she thought of the parts. Everyone got up and was social with one another. I just sat there, thinking. I felt someone tap my shoulder. I turned and saw a cute girl. She had long brown hair with turquoise highlights pulled back into two long ponytails down her back. She had large green eyes that sparkled with wonder.
"Hi! I'm Lucy Gentry! I see that your sitting by yourself, can i sit?" She bubbled. I nodded. She was dressed quite interesting. She had kawaii pink leggings on with a black skirt with bright orange suspenders. She looked cute, but also crazy.
"I am just wondering who you are? I mean, i haven't seen you around here before." She questioned. I closed my book and took off my glasses.
"I'm Poppy." I said. She talked for about 10 minutes about theater and Shakespeare, she's very funny.
"May i have your attention class?" Mrs. Loureiro. Everyone went silent fast. "Well, we will be doing small scenes from numerous plays, i have the sheet up in the office and by my door, go and check who you are, we start rehearsals tomorrow." The bell rang and i ran out of the room. I went straight to the office. I looked at the list. I nearly threw up. I heard gasping behind me. I turned and saw Mia and Jullian behind me reading the list.
"WHAT! I'M NOT JULIETTE!" Mia screamed. I flinched at her scream. I read over the cast list and found my name.
Poppy Smith...............................Juliette Capulet
This can't be right, i read through the list again, but started looking for who Romeo would be.
Jullian Loveland.......................Romeo Montague
I felt as if Mia now hated me 10 times more than usual.
