I was able to call my Dad that Christmas Eve night, and he told me that he was going to come get me, but i knew that i wanted to stay, i told Dad that i was just going to stay at my friends house for Christmas Day. He was upset, but i told him that i was just wasn't very comfortable around my "new" family. So he let it go, and told me that we could talk about this later. He wasn't very angry, he was almost happy. Which was okay, i didn't tell him that i had fainted in the snow or anything. I didn't think that he needed to know that right now. I was able to just lay on that bed until some feeling came back into my arms, and more in my legs. I was finally able to meet Mrs. Fullbuster when she came into the room to grab the little Alex from my side. She looked just like Noah, or should i say that Noah looks like her. She brought me soup and it was basically one in the morning. She sent Noah and Alex to bed, and when i finished the soup, she sent me back to bed to rest for the remainder of Christmas Eve. I ended up sleeping for a little while. I woke up at around 10ish.
I opened my eyes to blue eyes looking at me from the side of the bed. Little fingers played with my hair and that was falling off of the bed. She was twisting it between her little fingers. I looked at her, with my sleepy eyes. I smiled at her and did my best to keep it that way. The little child just smiled a big grin at me and kept it that way, too. I sat up when I heard the door creak in my room. I was happy to see Mrs. Fullbuster coming into the room. She smiled at me and handed me a mug. I sipped on the warm liquid inside and it made me feel warm. I have never felt this at home since my Mom was alive. I remember the hot drinks that we used to make together, we made a cinnamon one with a few bits of milk in it. That one was our favorite. I remember sitting on the couch watching the Phantom of the Opera with her, and when rainy days came around, I remember us sitting by the fire place looking at family photo albums wrapped in fuzzy blankets. I do have fun memories with Dad, but in all honesty, he wasn't around for much of my childhood. Only for the important ones, like birthdays, or holidays. But he kept his career because he was so committed to it.
Mrs. Fullbuster smiled and grabbed Alex from my side and whispered something into her ear. The small girl bounded away with a spring in her step. Mrs. Fullbuster pulled up a chair next to me and smiled.
"How are you feeling?" she asked. I shrugged.
"I feel better, I can finally move my arms and legs better than before." I said.
"Well, we'll have to see if you can walk." she said. She called to Noah and he came walking in. He was wearing a sweater that was clearly homemade and slightly blushed when he saw me. He walked over to the bed next to me as well. I turned my body so that my bandaged legs were hanging off the bed. I was only had my leggings on, but they were at least comfortable. Mrs. Fullbuster helped me unwrap my legs, while I worked on my arms. Once I was free of all the bandages, I examined the area, and scooched my way off the bed. I held on to the bedpost and stood, it wasn't that hard, but my legs felt really sore. I looked at Noah, who was standing in front of me, he held his hands out to me. I closed my eyes, and took his hands.
