If given the opportunity to change, would you? Everything seems so far away when you're in high school but we still can't wait to grow up. Once we've grown up and flew the coop we make the choices about our lives. What do we do now? Where do we go? How long will it take me to get what I want? If you have any of these things planned good for you, I on the other hand had no idea where to start or even how to get there. Along the way I will meet some good people and some bad, but will I let the bad take me over or will the good prevail to see the good in me?

Brinsley is my name and here you'll learn all about my adventure through college and how the hands of two very different men make making good choices hard. I keep to myself most times as I'm not the one to be found out at the parties. College was the only thing I knew was a guarantee for me after high school. I could go where I wanted and major in just about anything. Criminal Justice had always been a calling for me. You see, my mother was a Forensic Anthropologist and my father an Air Marshall. I wanted to follow in their footsteps and the easiest way for me to do that was start at the bottom.

During my first year at college I stayed busy with books and working on campus as part of their tech department. It had nothing to do with my career choice but the access to computers kept it busy. I would go home for the summer and spend time sitting around alone. My parents were very busy with their careers and it wasn't often I would find them at home to greet me. I kept busy over the summer by visiting with friends and old flings. Summer is when I took the time to go back to who I used to be, fun, crazy, and borderline depressed. There were very few times my parents would be home but I liked having the house to myself. I only wish they would notice that I'm home and share in my company.

During the summer, I spent time looking to something to do in the way of work. I would need an in if I wanted to make a good start on my career. As soon as I returned to school I found it to be easy to find and get an internship. Nothing paid college students but it was nice to have an in and get my feet wet. The local police chapter took me in and most often I was at the front desk answering the phones and taking messages. I still had to keep up with my studies but it wasn't that hard and they didn't mind if I took some time to study. If I wasn't at work I was either in the library or in my room with my nose in a book.

Being around campus a lot during the day made it easy for me to meet and learn the names of more students. I wasn't looking for a lot of friends but my one friend Katarina, of Kat as I call her is always nearby. Today we sit by the big oak tree in the back of the school I'm observing and reading while she's tapping away on her phone. She's giggling at something but isn't telling me what's so funny. Kat has always been one of those girls who can get a guy and have a new one a week later. I'm not sure how she does this to herself but I can't say I haven't done that as well. The summers are where I rekindled old flames, but that was it a rekindle. Once a guy calls attention to her she's off and will go with him, I laugh as today will be no different. He approaches slowly, gives her a look, then walks away. She gets up leaving me there to finish and bring her books with me.

This is normal behavior for her but I've noticed this guy wondering around the campus. He's tall always covered but he seems built. I'm not sure who he is and what he wants but he gives me bad vibes. It makes me gather my things and head to my room where I know I won't see him. Before I walk in the door I must knock as I'm sure Kat brought that guy here with her. I laugh when I hear her telling him I'm back. He swings the door open and he's standing there without a shirt of and his hair is a mess, but I laugh and he moves. He closes the door behind him and Kat and I look at each other. She looks like she's just seen a celebrity crush of hers. Her eyes are still glazed over from the high and her breathing is almost back to normal but not totally. I laugh at her tossing her books at her before turning on my computer.
