chapter 17: bad news

JAKES VIEW

I let go of her. Did she just say we need to break up. No i cant loose her.

“Jane, baby no” i said, my eyes swelling up.

She stood up, I jumped up after her.

“Jane please, just listen to me!” I begged.

She stopped, “What” she asked.

“Please dont do this, I cant loose you!” I said.

She wiped her eyes “You ruined it Jake! not me!” she said.

“I didnt mean to, I would never do that on purpouse! That girl means nothing to me, I didnt know what i was doing. All i remember Is that I was looking for you and someone called me name and then I was walking up stairs with her, then I saw you in the door way.” i said.

She stopped. “Jake i love you, but i dont want to hurt anymore. And I cant keep doing this..” she said, her words started to slur from her tears.

I pulled her into a hug and kissed her forehead. “Jane im so sorry I hurt you, I didnt want any of this to ever happen.” she nodded.

“Can we start over” i asked.

She pulled away. “All the way over” she said.

Did she mean that. We couldnt break up, I couldnt loose Jane. Shes my whole world, I dont know what id do without her.

“How, how far over” i said, my voice cracking.

“The begginging” She said.

“Does that mean....”-she cut me off.

“Yes Jake. We arent dating.” she said.

A tear rolled down my cheek, and she turned and went inside. I sat down at the table, put my head in my hand and cried.

JANES VIEW

I closed the door, wiping my tears. Everyone sat on the couch waiting for me. Alex and Polly hopped up and walked over to me and hugged me. We walked by to the couch and sat down. Alex sat at the end beside john, I sat between john and andrew, Polly sat beside andrew, and matthew beside her at the end. I put my Head in my hands, and tears came out again. Andrew put his hand on my back and I turned to him and put my head on his shoulder. He wrapped his arms around me and comforted me.

“you will be okay” he said, i nodded my head into his chest.

Matthew had to go home and so did Polly, she hugged me and then left with Matthew. I stayed wrapped up on Andrew when Johns mom called. When he back in the room he said his mom said he had to come home for his family birthday party, even tho he wanted to stay here and be here for me. I gave him a hug goodbye,

“thank you for everything J” I said hugging him tightly.

“Anything for you Jay” he said back.

It was good to have John, he was like a close older brother. Alex said she wasnt leaving until I was okay, so she stayed a while longer. I told Andrew he better leave with John that I am going to be a wreck soon, so he hugged me goodbye.

“Thank you so much for everything you did for me Andrew” I said.

I kissed his cheek and hugged him goodbye. He smiled at me, and left with John. Me and Alex curled up on the couch, Jake was still outside.

“Al what do I do” I asked her.

“Fix things with him” she said, “He was drunk, he didnt mean it. He went into Johns room at 5 this morning crying about you. John has never seen him cry before, not even tear up since 5th grade. He was really drunk Jane, he didnt know what he did” she said.

I nodded, “but I know what he did, I saw them Alex, I saw them” i cried.

She hugged me, “I know, I know.”

I pulled away after a few minutes, “Im sorry about being all over John” I said.

“Jane, seriously its nothing” she said.

“No im sorry, I hugged him to much and I dont want you to think we have anything between us, we call each other brother and sister. Theres nothing there but sibling love”

She laughed, “Jane I know! Its okay!” she said hugging me again.

She stood up, pulling me up with her.

“Now go out there and try to fix things with him, Ill wait in here.” she said pushing me to the door.

I opend it and walked out. Jake was still sitting and the table. He looked up when i closed the door and stood up and ran to me, pulling me into his arms. I started crying, and so did he.

“Im sorry Jake” I said.

“Im sorry Jane” he said.

I leaned away and looked at his face. He had tears flowing down his face. I kissed him. He pulled away fast.

“Do you forgive me” he said.

I nodded, “I forgive you, but its going to be hard to forget.” i said.

He hugged me again. We let go and walked inside. Alex was waiting for me like she said, but her mom had called while I was gone and demanded her to come home, and was on her way to get her. I gave her a hug and thanked her for everything before she left. When she was gone Jake and I sat on opposite couchs and talked.

“Everyone hates me “ he said.

I nodded, “Not everyone, Just John, Polly, Matthew, Andrew and Alex” i said, which was pretty much everyone.

“John really loves you” he said.

“Hes like my brother Jake. He calls me his little sister” i said.

He nodded.. “I love you” he said.

I nodded.
