Chapter 11 Depression: Comfort

Several days had passed since the tragic lost of Seirin to Too. Everyone got depressed but Kagami and Tetsuya was felt the most. They start ignoring each other and the cold atmosphere was felt in the whole club.

          “Do you think they’re alright?” Hikari asks Riko, she was concern with Tetsuya and Kagami’s situation.

          “Let them think for themselves for a while.” Riko said as they were eating on a restaurant. They parted their ways home, as she was walking in her way she saw Tetsuya on a pubic court. Tetsuya notices her and she tries to give him a smile. They sit on a bench and talk.

          “If I’m good at shooting I could help Kagami-kun to win against Aomine-kun.” He said while his arms are resting on his legs. She was just looking at him.

          “But you’re not… you must look on what you have, not what you don’t have.” She just said.

          “Aomine-kun, he’s different now.” He said.

          “I know. He’s not like that before.” She said and looks up to the sky. Tetsuya looks at her.

          “But we cannot blame him. He became what he was now because he’s really good at basketball and he is really hard to beat.” She said and looks at him too.

          “And all we can do to help him is to beat him. And I don’t think you’re doing can help. Come on, I now it’s hard but you must think positively at this point. Blaming yourself doesn’t help. You must do what you need to do.” She said looking directly to him.

          “You’re right.” He said and gives a small sad smile she replied with a smile.

          “Aha!” she said and grabbed his hand and dragged him somewhere.

          “Where are we going?” he said letting her drag him.

          “You’ll see it later.” She said happily looking at him and then to the way again. They are walking on an up hill road. A little while they reach a temple with a long stairs and they start walking up there when they reach the temple, they went on the back of it.

          “We’re here.” She said looking at the amazing view of the city light down to them. He stopped and amazed to what he was seeing now, of coarse it is not obvious cause he always wears a poker face.

          “This is…” he just said, his eyes was glued on the view.

          “Yes it is.” She said and watches the view happily.

          “I always come here whenever I am sad.” She said looking at the city lights; her hair was playing beautifully with the wind. He looks at her.

          “And you’re the first one to see my little paradise.” She said and looks at him with a bright smile.

          “I’m happy that you trust me.” He said and shows his rare smile.

          “I thought that bringing you here will light up your feeling like me. And I’m glad that it did.” She said. “Now this will be our secret.” She added. He just nods and they both look at the beautiful view of city lights. Later then.

          “Uhm Tetsuya-kun.” She said, he looks at her and she points at his hand that holds hers.

          “Can I hold it for a while?” he said and looks again at the city lights. She looks at him then she just let him hold her hand and enjoy the view in front of them. Later then, they decided to go home but they stopped in a near by vendo machine to quench their thirst. While drinking they have a little conversation.

          “You know what, I can see my self in you when I was a kid.” She said.

          “How is that?” he asks looking at her.

          “Hmmmmmmmm, let us say that I’m a shadow like you before. A shadow of my oniichan.” She said looking at her drink on her lap and then to the sky full of stars.

          “He is famous and known by others. While me, I’m just next to him. Always follows him. Silently helps him. I’m not so noticeable unlike what I’m now.” She said then smiles.

          “But what I like on my oniichan is he always acknowledges my presence, my help. And he always wants to act cool in front of me. And he always did.” She added. “He is my idol in and out of the basketball court.” She finally said.

          “What happen then? Where is he?” Tetsuya said attentively looking at her fine face while looking at the sky. She looks down and then looks at him.

          “I think we should go home now it’s getting late.” She stands up on the bench where they were sited. Tetsuya just follows her and don’t asks anymore. They walk and reached the spot where they need to separate ways. She patted the head of #2.

          “Good bye #2 see you tomorrow.” She said and stands up to face Tetsuya. She smiles and hugs him.

          “One day I could tell you everything.” She whispers to him and pulled away.

          “Bye Tetsuya-kun till next time.” she said happily and starts to walk away. Tetsuya clench his fist on his chest while looking at her fading in the dark. #2 barks and looks at him.

          “Yeah, you’re right.” He said and they went home too.
