Chapter 12

Link's boot stomped next to the knob and the wood door flew open. The room was dark. Three figures stood by the window.

"Palutena! Let the angels go!" He demanded. The goddess turned around, "Big talk for a tiny human." The goddess glowed, illuminating the room. The Angels at her feet were bound by golden chains, their own scarves used as gags, and their wings tied together with light. Link looked into her green eyes, "I may be tiny but I have the holy Master Sword in my hands! I will fight you until I cannot stand!" He ran to her but was pushed back by the force of her own wings. Pit's scream was muffled as Link made contact with the back wall. "I have been storing up my power by letting Pit enact my revenge. I'm twice the goddess I was." She rose her arms to charge her power and Link tossed his boomerang into her gut. He rolled onto his feet and ran at her again, after catching his boomerang. He struck her down. She coughed up, having the wind knocked out of her.

Link quickly returns his sword to its sheath and picks up both angels. He runs into the hallway to move them away from the main fight. Dark Pit yells out something muffled and Pit screams. They are all pushed onto the floor. Pit and Dark Pit fall onto their sides and Link is dragged back down the hall where Palutena is walking closer. Link lights a bomb and throws it at her. She caught it and threw it behind her.

Pit attempts to stand but can only manage to inch worm his way closer to Link.

The green goddess picks Link up by his neck and flings him against a wall. The back of his head breaks a framed picture of the grassy fields. Glass cuts his neck and he gasps. Pit's eyes are filled with tears now. Dark Pit watches in horror, unable to help in the situation. He curls into a fetal position and closes his eyes.

Palutena hits the blond's stomach with the butt of her staff. "Die already..."

She walks to the white angel and kicks him to his reflection. "You Angels had your chance. You've betrayed me for a lowly human. Now watch him die!" She charges an attack in her staff. It takes all the angels' strength but they manage to jump before the human and block the attack by summoning a shield. Pit spits out the gag, "We've got you Link! You're not gonna die on our watch!" Link is motionless but breathing and bleeding.

Palutena swats them away, "You two need to learn the hard way that humans don't actually care for you! If I have to kill you I will! I can always get a new divine messenger!" Pit spits in her direction, "You're wrong! Link...he loves us! A-and Robin! He loves us!"

Palutena charges her attack and there is a flash of light. Pit and Dark Pit brace for death. But it never came...

Link was before them, bearing the unbreakable Hylian shield, "I am three times the god you will ever be. Din! Nayru! Farore! The golden goddesses have bestowed the Triforce into me and I will fight till my last breath!" Palutena grew furious, "No! Humans don't love angels!" The attack stopped and Link peeked out, "This HUMAN does!" Palutena seemed taken aback by that. Link stood up, almost loosing his balance. He ran at her and struck her with the most precise attacks with impossible speeds. The green haired woman was stunned and left on the ground. Her wide eyes looked up at the ceiling.

Link ran over the the Angels as their bindings disappeared with her weakened power. Dark Pit spat out his gag. Link hugged him tightly, "Thank you so much Pittoo!" Dark Pit blushed and pat his back, "No problem Link."

Link released the dark angel and hugged the lighter one, "Pit!" He nuzzles the angel's neck, "I thought I was a goner." Pit smiled, "Don't worry Link. I've got you." Pit showered his face with kisses. Link teared up at the pain of his wounds. The back of his head was bloody, blond turning a dark red. Link lost consciousness in the angel's arms. Pit started to panic, "Link! Link!" Robin and Mario ran inside.

"It was quiet! What happened to Link? Palutena?" Robin kneeled down. Mario checked Link. "He'll be fine. I must see Zelda for a fairy." Mario walked back out. Dark Pit jumped into Robin's arms, "Robin! I thought we were going to die!" Robin stroked the angel's black hair, "You're here Pittoey. You're okay now. I'm sorry I let Palutena take you." Dark Pit shook his head and kissed the magician's lips.

Pit smiled at the two, "Guess we both have humans we love..." Link twitched in his lap. The Hylian whimpered in pain.

Palutena finally collected herself and slowly sat up. Pit held onto Link and Robin tightened his grip on Dark Pit. Palutena put her hands up as Smashers came in to carry her away. "Big brother! Are you okay!?" Toon Link ran in to see the tall hero. Pit sat the hero up, "He's fine. Fairy bottle?" Toon nodded and popped the cork open. The fairy swirled around Link and the dust settles on his skin. His blue eyes slowly opened.

"Pit?" he awoke. Pit nodded, tears in his eyes, "Yes. Yes, I'm here." Link leaned on his shoulder, "D-did I win?" Pit nodded and gave him a peck on the lips. Link smiled and kissed back. "Where's Palutena?"

Pit like down the hall, "I think, having a long talk about her action with Master Hand." Link chuckled. All Smashers filed in and surrounded the champions. They all cheered things like "no more Palutena!" or "Humans rock!".

Once everything settled down and the rubble was cleaned by some happy to help Pikmin and Pokémon, we find our star couple at dinner. They sit in Smash Plaza wearing their casual clothes. They laugh and smile at witty banter. Their hands intertwine on the table. "I'm glad you're back," Link leans on his palm. Pit strokes his hand with his thumb, "Wild Pegasus couldn't pull me away from you."

A cough halted the gushing couple, "Are we interrupting?" Dark Pit and Robin stood hand in hand.

Dark Pit sporting a grey v neck and black skinny jeans with dark violet combat boots. Robin wears a black trench coat and a white dress shirt and plain dark jeans.

Link shakes his head, "No, not at all." Not only was it a date, but this was a double date. Pit had invited Dark Pit and Robin to do couples activities with Link and him. First they'd have dinner then finish off at a Japanese arcade. "We've ordered already. Hope you don't mind steak," Pit smiled as he pulls over two seats. Robin shakes his head, "Sounds delicious." Dark Pit smiles, "Thanks...Pit."

Dark Pit's attitude was obviously changing since he's come out about being with the magician. He's been less hostile and aggressive. He was tolerable and was nicer to Pit. Pit enjoyed being able to bond with his "brother" more.
