Dark Pit led Link away from the crowds of the mansion. He took him to the secluded grove beyond Peach's garden.

Link looked lost, "W-what do you need Dark?" The dark angel turned to face him, "I'm sorry. Sorry for everything that has happened. I didn't see this as an outcome." Link looked confused at the babbling angel, "Dark what are you talking about?" "You and Pit! I ruined you two! I told Palutena because...I thought she deserved to know what her angel had been up to!" Dark growled. Link frowned, "Were you following us? I could have sword we were alone and away from Kid Icarus chara-" "I'm his mirror image! Pit and I are one in the same. Of course with me being incomplete but that's besides the point. I feel what Pit feels. I knew when he was around you. He did love you. He'd be lying if he said he never did."

Link's eyes widened, "No. He never did. He said so himself." "You idiot! Underneath that angel is your Pit! Palutena put a sort of spell on him to make him this way! He still has feelings for you!" "No he doesn-mnff!"

Link was cut off with a kiss to the lips. Dark's hands cup the hero's cheeks as Link's own fall to his sides in surprise. Link wanted the kiss to feel good but something was off. This feeling of guilt for going with Dark Pit behind Pit's back. Link took ahold of Dark Pit's shoulders and pulled away.

"Dark I'm sorry but my feelings lie with Pit," Link sighed. "That was Pit! He's in love with you still! Palutena has him under her control. He still wants you," Dark gripped his collar, "Go free him!"

Link blushed and nodded, "But I'll need your help. I'm not educated in Palutena's magic."

Link and Dark Pit set out to find a way to break Palutena's hold on Pit. They observed Pit through the day. Dark Pit would make Link walk by him to observe his reactions.

Pit would always stare then turn away with a tear in his eye. At lunch he'd play with his food and un voluntarily sit up straight when Palutena walked in.

Link met up with Dark Pit in Hyrule field. "Diagnosis?" Dark Pit cleared his throat, "This may not be one hundred percent true but I believe it's his laurel wreath. She's leading him through that. We have to break it!" Link nodded, "Tomorrow I get my boyfriend back! I hold him down and you get the wreath."

Pit looked out the window and saw the meeting between his reflection and his ex. He felt a pain in his chest watching Dark Pit pull the hero in for a hug.

A knock at the door disrupted his thoughts. The door swung open, "Pit! Did you get Donkey Kong today? That mangy ape hit me with a barrel in today's battle." Pit turned to Palutena, "Yes Lady Palutena. I smashed all his bananas with the Home Run bat." Palutena smiled and hugged him, "I know you're under my mind control but you've never made me so proud!" Pit stood his ground inside head but as he soon noticed, his body was holding the Goddess in an embrace. He didn't like holding her like this. He'd much rather have his true love, Link, in her place.

Link and Dark Pit entered the mansion and parted ways. Lucina and Ryu ran up to him. Lucina shook the hero, "Link get that angel under control! I know you're separated but you're the only one who knows him well enough!" Link took Lucina's hands off the front of his shirt and removed them from his tunic. "Calm down Luci. Dark Pit and I are going to get him to stop. Just give us until tomorrow."

Link walked away and went into his room. On his desk was his green/gold necklace. He picked it up and sighed. He glanced back at the bathroom and flicked on the light inside. On the sink was Pit's bracelet. He looked upon it fondly. Soon he'd be able to hold him in his arms again.

Link slept with a peaceful mind. He dreamt of a vast field. He stood among the tall grain. He smelt his farming village. A small voice called out for him. He walk towards it. Again but louder. He sprinted. It was Pit, he knew it was. Again. "Link!" the voice sobbed. A puff of feathers rising from an area of the grain called Link towards it. Pit sat in a human sized bird cage on the floor. Pit's cheeks were stained with his own salty tears. His hands gripped the bars of the cage until his knuckles ran white. Link dropped into his knees before him, "Pit!" He fumbled with the cage's heart shaped lock. Pit held Link's hands through the bars, "Link...behind you."

Before Link could turn...he woke up.
